Twas a good game, but as boss battles goCalcium said:Wasn't Rayman initially a 2d platformer? I remember having it on the Playstation, was a great game. The cartoon artstyle meant the game hasn't aged, and the bosses were always epic. Seriously a game that did boss battles well.
I had Rayman's 1 and 2 for the Dreamcast, still have rayman 2 right now... I didn't find it that fun, I thinkDigitalAtlas said:Derp. New one is coming out and Rabbids is the most popular game on Wii. Plus, Rayman 2 was a premiere title for the 3DS.
Not really seeing what those things (I disagree about the no atmosphere thing, by the way) have to do with Rayman being mutated into that horrible minigame extravanganza in which he was just a sidecharacter. It was still a typical Rayman game.Phlakes said:Then 3 set it on the path to destruction, trying to fit in pop culture references and unnecessary collectibles and a much more generic soundtrack and annoying characters and absolutely no atmosphere.
Do get the first Rayman then, it's one of the pinnacles of 2D art design, together with gems like Planescape: Torment and Legend of Mana.Neverhoodian said:I've never been that interested in the series, but I'm stoked about Origins. Its visual style is nothing short of stunning.
Rayman was 2d though, originally. Sure, Rayman 2 may have been 3d, so you would've been right if you weren't talking about the whole series. At least get your facts straight when you make a thread asking wether people know a rather well known franchise.pablogonzalez said:Rayman is a 3d platformer
The original game simply titled Rayman was a 2D platformerpablogonzalez said:Rayman is a 3d platformer based in a fantasy world about a creature with no limbs but a set of floating hands, feet anda floating head called Rayman. you may of hear of him through the Mario Party rip off called Rayman Raving Rabbids, and even then i hardly accept that as rayman game. The last (PROPER) Rayman game was released in 2003 ....8 years ago. Finally at E3 they announced Rayman origins : a 2d platformer with the most extravagent artistic style, and frankly i think its fuckin awesome.
