Same here, I've never been able to get a copy of Daggerfall or Arena, but of the two I've seen, I'm gonna say Oblivion. I just enjoyed it on a much higher level then Morrowind.

Daggerfall and Arena are out for free on Bethesda's site. Why don't more people know about this?!

That said, I'll vote Morrowind, ONLY because Daggerfall's dungeons are just way too daunting for me, heh.
Because I don't go to Bethesda's site nor do I really talk about Bethesda a lot with my friends. I'll give it a look now that I know. Thank you.
They removed it, to use the space for Skyrim. >_<

Googling "Daggerfall Free" ought to get you a different mirror, though.
The Elder Scrolls Wiki has it somwehre for you I used it to show my friend so he could try daggerfall
I'm pretty sure that link got killed.

I have a working link on my LP, though.

That has it for anyone who needs a link :3
Well, how about that. Ignore me.
Nah the more sources there are the more it will spread so people can learn and play it instead of thinking you have to go buy it to play it and such
Or, you could read LPs of it!

(Can you tell I desperately want people to read my own LP (on the very website)? I think I'm getting more shameless about it...)

Hard for me to say, I've only played one (Not for lack of trying, mind you, but the GotY edition of Morrowind doesn't seem to want to work on my 360...), Oblivion, and I honestly didn't like it that much.
Can my answer be "I hope Elder Scrolls V is better"?

it is a dead heat between morrowind and oblivion.

Morrowind was a lot more immersive and, in most ways, had a better story.

Oblivion has better combat and it is better from a gaming mechanics standpoint. i like a lot of what both games did so it really isn't fair to try and compare them.

on top of that a lot of the 20 somethings, such as my self, see Morrowind with nostalgia we don't see Oblvion with. I got Morrowind in high school and was able to play in on my xbox that was hooked up to my parent's big t.v. it was a welcome relief from the dullness of the same old school stuff and tried out modes of relaxation. it was also my introduction to the series, thus giving Tamerel that 'new car smell'.

I got oblivion, on the other hand, off amazon using doom-room wifi freshman year. i played it on my soso laptop on ultra-low quality mode. I apreciated the world but it was far from new to me. on top of that my laptop really can't handle Oblvion, even on ultra-low mode so i have a lot of my memories tainted by lag and Dell induced overheating.

TL;DR it really isn't fair to ask gamers to compare the two based solely on the fact that they are so different. they were good for different reasons

Because I spent three hours on the opening post, and no one wants to read it (bar three or four lovely, lovely people).

I loved morrowind and oblivion. I tried to get daggerfall to work on my pc but it wouldnt work properly. I am convinced that skyrim will suck until proven otherwise.

Arena can be downloaded free, as well. You'll need dosbox though... not sure about with daggerfall.

morrowind was awesome, but i didnt like how it didnt tell me where to go, it made it rather difficult to get back to any quests after long bouts of just running around dungeon crawling. my vote is oblivion, because it is absolutly beautiful to boot

im going to say morowind, just because although the bugs, interface, and the vagueness of the quests made it such a frustrating game to play, it was also immersive and epicly awesome. then they ruined it by dumbing it down and adding mob level scaling. and fast travel. and the repetitiveness in oblivion...

Morrowind, by far. Admittedly I haven't played the first two, but I hated the level scaling, fast travel, and the uniformity of the world in Oblivion. I want the world to feel huge, every dungeon I encounter to be a unique experience, and to start the game as a miserable weakling only to transform into an unstoppable badass by the end.

That's one more than a lot of people have, really.

Morrowind was great. I played it after Oblivion. I was kind of disappointed with combat and a few other things, but once I found Levitation and all the other crazy awesome stuff I loved it. Oblivion was ok, but Morrowind was awesome. I'm hoping Bethesda takes the combat from Oblivion and merges it with the goodness of Morrowdind for Skyrim (for the base, I'm all for new things).

I've only played Oblivion and Morrowind. I didn't like Morrowind and loved Oblivion. There's your answer.

like about half of the people here, im one of those who get to choose between morrowind and oblivion
lets break down the advantages of each one

Oblivion:
-Better journal system (morrowind's journal entries are often a bit vague)
-Updated graphics
-Improved combat system

Morrowind:
-far Far FAR better scenery
-More varied scenery (none of oblivions 90% grassland world)
-Overall more original and better looking models for items/creatures (the exeption to this is models for npcs...mostly)
-No broken leveling in which all the bandits are walking around with a small fortune of daedric gear
-text based conversations with npcs (until bethesda uses more that 4 or 5 voice actors for generic characters text conversations are far better and give more topics)
-more spells (oblivion took out all the levetate, slowfall etc so that towns could be loaded seperate from open areas)
-most items are not scaled - it is possible to get a high level item at a low level not items are only EVER seen above a certain level
-more interesting creatures (more than just standard wolves, bears etc)
-teleportation and boats/silt striders instead of oblivions quick travel (not much exploring if you can jump from anywhere to anywhere)

now which one is better overall /sarcasm

I've played a bit of Oblivion and about an hour of Morrowind, so I don't really have much of a say in things.
