I realize you'd have other, better Pokemon by that point in the game, but you were the one who said Bulba/Ivy/Venusaur was average against Sabrina (whom the other two have no problem with, I should mention now) and good against Giovanni, and I'm saying "No he isn't, he's weak to Sabrina and neutral against Giovanni." Also...
But You might have an unevolved bulbasaur, unevolved pokemon have better stat growth, so if you hold off evolving bulbasaur, it'll have better stats.
...no they don't. Now, unevolved Pokemon frequently learn attacks at lower levels than they would evolved, and sometimes can only learn certain attacks at unevolved levels, but evolution has no effect on their actual stats, one way or the other.
