Everyone exaggerates their height because tall is sexy [http://blog.okcupid.com/index.php/the-biggest-lies-in-online-dating/]. Simple as that.

Short peoples are always angrier cause they get intimidated by everyone else :p

Yeah, im 5.11 and a half, shorter people usually look like they feel as if they are being looked down on...

I'm very short. JUST under 5" (by about 1mm) so I do get really fed up of being looked down on. Not physically because thats frankly inevitable, but people do seem to think, even subconciously that me being short makes me a bit thick. I was once awarded a Science award in my school, and the guy behind said to his mate "She much be getting the "special" award for effort, look how little she is!"
Rage ensued. Its not very fair, its not very logical, especially since I'm fairly well known as being a bit clever, but it happens.
Oh, and I'm in no way adorable. I wouldn't mind if nobody else made such a huge deal of it, but since many people are quick to comment on my size it does make me a bit mad, yes.

It's just liek dick-meassuring... if you can do it in numbers, a lot of people will see it as a competition, and try to get the highest number possible.

you would be surprised at how quickly thumping someone on the head ends a fight. i am 3.5 inches shorter and that is enough leverage to knock someone flat with little effort, not to say i would do that as they might get hurt... worse than they need to be.

OT: if you know how to fight, martially, then no it is not it presents it own unique bonuses and penalties, there are things that are more effective for and against you and less effective for and against you. At least it always seems to come down to looking like you would be better, or worse in a fight than anything.
It's just helps ending a fight before it starts. Most people suddenly loose interest in being unfriendly when they find themselves half a head shorter than they think they are.
yep, and pepole who know how to fight generally don't try to pick fights, so it is a very good deterrent some times, but sometimes pepole pick fights with you if you are tall, 6 foot and up, because they want to prove that they could take you. I don't know about you but i am generally a happy go lucky guy, and because of that and my size, i have had pepole pick fights with me on a number of occasions.

Short people want to be tall. Tall people want to be just a little taller, and really tall people want to be shorter.

I like being tall, I'm 6'3" and i love it, it also helps because i like a girl that's shorter than me, but if i was say: 5'5", i'd have a relatively hard time finding a girl that's shorter than me. Plus...short girls are just cuter...i'm not sure why, they just are.

I'm 6'2", and I don't really notice it, unless one of my co-workers is asking me for something on the top shelf.

Mostly, it's because I've gotten used to it, considering I reached this height as a freshman in high school, and was 5'11" in 6th grade; back then, I really felt more of an outcast for it, and it really made me feel better when there was someone else as tall or taller, so I didn't feel really obvious.

I remember times when people liked other people because of their personality, not their height.

I'm pertty tall myself, but it's really not important.

I find the title and proposed question to be funny. Unintentional pun?

As to answer the question, I find height to be a useless matter. I'm 5'10-5'11, very average. My friend, Jake, is 6'5. Though he is bigger, people tend to find me more intimidating, and to have more of a presence in the room.

PS. I can also kick Jake's ass.

Yeah, it is. Tall people are more successful at everything, and there are stats to back it up.

Then again, I'm 6'2", so I'm biased.
Any evidence to support that claim?
