What would it be fellow Escapists? And how would it affect the industry for better or worse?

My Change: Halo was never made. This isn't an anti-Halo statement, quite the opposite. FPS' might not have regenerating health. The Xbox 360 might not even exist because the original Xbox's sales wouldn't have been nearly as good, perhaps it would be a two horse race between Sony and Nintendo maybe Bungie got picked up by Sega. There may well have been a new gaming project that Microsoft turned down to pick up Halo, maybe that would have seen the light of day. The results of this change might be quite massive on current games and the industry as a whole - I'd like to explore those possibilities.

Alternate Change: I would stop Sega from dying as a console maker. I think the "console wars" would be alot more interesting if at least half of the competitors were games companies and not branches of corporations. And as a result, Sonic might be good again. But on the downside, some awesome games they've brought out as a games developer might not exist.

Sabotage Blizzard's creation of World of Warcraft, destroy it completely, remove all traces of it for sake of a peaceful future.

Ensure complexity and a mature audience for MMOs in general, sabotage all creations similar to World of Warcraft for 10 years.

Would also sabotage all motion control gimmicks, except the Wii, and would get rid of the Microsoft and Sony motional control projects, instilling an interest in PS4 and Xbox (720?) or tech upgrades for existing systems. For a better listing of higher tech games, ensuring a wonderful PC game selection.

The Sony and Microsoft motion projects are putting the industry behind by at least 3 years, putting development to a complete halt, while newer tech such as DirectX 10 & 11 (or even 12) will be virtually unused. Way to go guys.

Make it so that there is either 1 console system, or make it so that every game is also coming out on the PC; with good tech development, non shitty porting and no crappy DRM.

I could A Slap the living shit out of Nintendo for RE-RELEASING THE SAME HAND-FULL OF GAMES for the last 20 years or so

Slap Sega and prevent it from ruining Sonic with the invention of the homing dash (Or whatever the fuck it's called) Also A were-hog is a fucking horrible idea. Case and point, Sonic is meant for 2-D, fast running, platforming,and good music. NOT having the voice of a 12 year old while systematic-ly decimating my childhood and making out with annoying 11 year old skanks. (See Sonic 2006 or 2007 I Forget which)

I'd stop all the pandering to casual gamers we have now.

"Let's add regenerating health so that guy doesn't die so much"

"Let's put aim assist on this game so players can aim easier"

"Let's make this one long path so this person doesn't get lost"

Next it's gonna be "Let's make it so this player can't die because dying might make him sad"
