Same. I've tried to get into Fallout 3 but it was just so dull and boring. What was round the corner? Another derelict building.BathorysGraveland said:Elder Scrolls. I just can't get interested in Fallout at all honestly. From the gameplay to the setting.
I've got it on Steam, I'll probably try it out this summer.Elmoth said:You should try New Vegas, it's much more diverse and much less drab. And it has a considerably better story, characters and quests.endtherapture said:Same. I've tried to get into Fallout 3 but it was just so dull and boring. What was round the corner? Even Oblivion had more sense of wonder and exploration.
Normally I'd agree with you, but I can't for the same reason I disliked Fallout. Everything seemed to take so many shots to kill that it felt like I was firing rubber bullets. Not satifying at all, infact it just felt outright silly.Jedoro said:Fallout
I have yet to find a spell/sword/bow/axe that's been more satisfying to use than a shotgun.
I think point 5 is questionable, the leveling system in skyrim was a joke with speachcraft useless, smithing and enchanting broken and there was no unarmed skill any-more.orangeban said:The Elder Scrolls. Reasons:
NOTE: I'm not going to consider Fallout: New Vegas here, since it was made by Obsidian, not Bethesda.
1) Loot, there is much better loot in TES. Most dungeons in Fallout are empty of good loot, it's dull.
2) Better looking world. Fallout 3 is bland, very bland. It's got a sickening green tint and everything is rubble. Skyrim is astonishingly beautiful by comparison.
3) TES has books, some of which are actually pretty cool.
4) I prefer swords and magic to guns.
5) I feel the writing in Fallout 3 was worse, while in Skyrim it was... decent.
Edit: 6) Better leveling system, Fallout goes for the generic XP method, Skyrim's system is unique and makes more sense in game.
Then get an incinerator and torch the world. You can light people on fire in New Vegas. Not sure about fallout 3 since I just can't stand it.TheMightyAtrox said:I really like Fallout, but I'm going to have to go with Elder Scrolls. I guess I just love tolight people on fire.
It isn't so much as gritty realism = grey brown black as the world getting Nuked to Oblivion = grey brown and blackIamLEAM1983 said:Elder Scrolls, largely because the Fallout games, while great, are victims of the whole "Gritty Realism = DARK BROWNS EVERYWHERE, ARGH" problem.
