They blew StarCraft III into $60 ea x3 games and are trying to figure out how to lock you out of LAN connect and charge you monthly to play. I bet the programmers are still under lockdown by the VP's and haven't got out from under their evil thumbs yet. Give'em a chance, management will screw a good thing up. :( (Too negative? Play WoW and get ninja looted and re-read this) /cry /cry /cry

DAMN! I wish I read the question, I thought the question was "Are you losing faith in Diablo" not "Will it be perfection" so I said "No" =(

If they can figure out how to make it more engaging than ARPGs of the past, I'll buy it. I mean, what CAN you do to take ARPGs further? Titan Quest, Diablo 2 and Torchlight are fairly similar. I'd need to think to figure out how to innovate in a ARPG...

Loosing faith? Hell no! My fingers are twitching already!

Yes there are things that concern me, like the orb system. But as a whole it looks fantastic and it makes me sad that my PC will not be able to run it.

Good Developer + Time = Good Game. I don't think waiting will do anything but make it better.
Seriously, if you think the best gratification is that which occurs quickly, I kinda feel sorry for your girlfriend.

Blizz do know their buisness. They did a great job with Cataclysm (even in the beta) and Diablo will be great too. They know how to program a game AAA-class. And thats not only cool characters, nice moves, enemys, and game mechanics. Thats just one side of the medal. Its making a good game, with optimised use of recources. 90% of todays games could run on way slower machines if the developers would have the time (=money and patience) to do a good job. And lower requirements = more customers. Blizz got the name and the franchises that they dont take a risk when taking time and the result will be higher sales because even low-techs like me can run starcraft 2.

p.s. we're starting a lot of threads today, arent we?

They're probably focusing on Cata first, debugging and what not, then will probably finalise D3. That's fine with me, Blizzard is known for taking their time and releasing quality games. However, I was very disappointed with SC2 so I lack faith in D3 and any chance of it becoming perfect.

blizzard do a decent job of rooting out the obvious bugs (reckon Codemasters should take lessons from Blizzard...)

They have separate teams working on their projects, I believe, so the focus on cataclysm oughtn't be detrimental to the Diablo efforts :)

Don't really like any of the classes but it looks like their ready to invest everything in making it happen.
Probably settle for Witch Doctor but its like they went too far afield for their inspiations.

Inlike HL3 which isn't fucking coming, lazy bastards.

I'm finding it hard to stay excited about Diablo 3.

Although on one hand, the long development implies a high quality end-product, it's no guarantee that it'll be any good.

My main worry is that it'll become another Duke Nukem-type scenario, where the development/desire to have the cutting edge technology dichotomy will turn into a massive farce.

Hopefully it won't happen, but the longer it drags on, the less enthusiastic I become.

This is for my own curiosity and as well as others who may want to know, but is the wait giving you more hope to say it will be perfection or Blizz is just to focused of cata and other projects to make a realizes date.
You do know that the Cata Team and Diablo team are not all the same people right?

Sure some of the people work on both projects, but the core development teams are two different groups.

Ergo!

Dialbo 3 is not much affected by Cataclysm.
