Do I or do I not support homosexuality? Like it's a team or something? That is truly strange phrasing.

Like many others, I'm indifferent. I am not homosexual myself, but I know many people who are, including two cousins of mine that are around my age, one of who recently "came out."

I don't care, I don't understand why anyone else would/does and it's really not any of my business.

I believe that people who think that homosexuality is a choice are ignorant and have little to no concept of the complexities of life.

I don't understand why anyone would care either. First of all, why is someone's sexual life another person's business? And, if it doesn't directly negatively affect one, why is it an issue?

i personally support homosexuality. i am not personally homosexual, nor do i know anyone who i *know* is gay (im only 15, haven't been around THAT much), but i do not find anything wrong with it. yeah so its not how we were designed to reproduce, but does it really matter that much? survival by maintaining population is hardly a concern nowadays considering how large it has gotten, and who am i to judge whether or not someone's sexual preferences are right or wrong? To each his own i say, for it is how i would prefer to be treated, and all we really have to do in this life is be happy, so i say let 'em enjoy each other.
(just as long as they don't hit on me after i made it clear im not interested. that would bug me, but that goes for women as well)

Can I "support" homosexuality because guys hitting on me makes me feel better about my appearance?

Because I can do that.

Also, a person's worth and rights should not be decided by what sexual characteristics make his/her heart flutter and crotch organ fire up.

I'm in full support of gay rights. We live in a wonderfully diverse world. No one deserves to be punished for who they are or how they feel (unless of course, it harms others...like serial killing...) I'm not gay myself, but I think everyone deserves to be happy. If anyone genuinely believes homosexuality is a choice, I'd like to hold their heads under the waters of knowledge until that last air bubble goes bloop. Why would anyone CHOOSE to be gay? It means to be ostracized, rejected by certain people, and all around just makes you very different from everyone else. You don't choose to be straight, do you?

Whatever floats your boat. It doesn't affect me so why should I care.

I think humanity has more important things to worry about than other people's sexual orientation. And I see no point in judging people by something like that when there are much more valid criteria. (For example, basic social skills and consideration for others spring to mind.)

Well I'm fine with it personally.

People often say it's "not natural". I had 2 pets once, a female rabbit and a male guinea pig. The female rabbit often tried to hump the shit out of the male guinea pig, mounting it and thrusting. That makes no sense but I'd have to argue that by its very nature it is natural despite it being between different species and weird reversed genders. Anybody who thinks only humans can be gay is just retarded.

You do realize that those of us who disapprove of homosexuality out of simple hatred can't say that we do without being bandhammer'd?

So, the only people who can explain their vote are those who are indifferent or supportive. This poll shoots itself in the foot.
This is incorrect.

You can express a negative opinion so long as you do so without insulting or disrespecting people.

For example [footnote] These are just examples for the sake of clarification. I don't personally share these opinions are all[/footnote]:

Good way to express a negative opinion:
I think homosexuality is wrong because my religion says [whatever] / because I don't think it's right [whatever reason here]

Wrong ways to express a negative opinion on this topic:
Homosexuals are wrong because they're not real people! / because they have no rights!
Or
FUCKING FAGS ARE FREAKS!

In essence, if you're explaining why you express a negative opinion and not being derogatory or insulting, you're fine, even if people don't agree with your opinion.

I've known several people who've had rabbits that were prone to getting crushes on cats. While it was usually a male rabbit and a female cat, it wasn't always.

I have no problem with it. If someone wants to be gay and get married I say let them. I am not gay or bi, but somehow I managed to think I was for about 6 months. Confusing times :/

My opinion is I really don't give a **** (<-you can fill in a four letter word of your choice), of course its not quite that simple. When weighing the pros and cons of gay right I could really only come up with one item on that topic on which to form my opinion on. The item fell under the con category and it was gay displays of affection bothered me a bit. Now part of my beliefs is that type of reasoning is a very ***** (<-five letter word of your choice this time meaning "bad") argument to use against something, nullifying my only argument one way or another. That left me with no reason to care. Now another one of my beliefs is people should have as much freedom as possible. The way I see it is me not caring is not a good enough reason to allow the restrictions of other peoples freedom, so by default I support gay rights even though I don't care. While I won't be going to gay rights rallies or writing letters to the government on the subject, I will always be on the pro gay rights side in any debate as well as vote in favor on gay right's subjects.
While I figure most people probably could care less about some random person?s opinion on the internet, I do hope that those of you, who don?t care either way on this, subject and do take into account my reasoning and preferably will agree with me. As for everyone else I believe it applies equally as well too many other subjects.

Ok let me put it another way, Are there any reasons why gay people should not have the same rights as straight people? eg Marriage, Adoption, The ability to give blood.
Marriage: Give civil unions equal legal status, make them for the secular regardless of sexuality, keep marriage for the religious. Same benefits, increase secularism, avoid pissing off religious people.

Adoption: I seriously do not know enough about the subject to really comment, though the argument "well some straight families aren't good at raising their kids" makes me want to kick people in the head.

Blood donation: One-year blood donation ban for MSMs, which I think is the current status in NZ and a few other countries. Risk of MSM blood being HIV infected is too high to be bothered spending the money to test it. Risk/cost/benefit analysis. Life ban stupid.
Fair Enough mostly but I don't really see how MSM's have a higher rate of being infected than MSF's blood, here in Ireland it's permanent and I guess if it was just a 1 year ban I wouldn't really care that much.

I believe anyone who pokes their noses in peoples private lives/bedrooms is an asshole by any means. They're not trying to force themselves on you, they're not something you should worry about. My head is still stumped why people insist on forcing their beliefs on others especially when it doesn't effect them.

Someone here on the escapist flat out mocked me for being asexual (not naming anyone here, you know who you are), you know what I have to say to that?

Find something better to care about asshole, my sexuality doesn't effect your life, so keep your ignorant hate filled mouth shut.

Homosexuality is considered a natural deviation of human sexual tendencies.
Debatable point, and that depends on when and where you live(d).
Ancient Greece: yeah, everyone knows almost everyone then/there was bi at the very least, and thought little of gay relationships.
Feudal Japan: homosexual companionship was frowned upon for the samurai classes, but largely tolerated.

OT: I'm indifferent. I know it's a biological aberration, but y'know what, I'm OK with it. I have gay friends... I have even more lesbian friends... *shrug*
Where do you find them? In have zero gay friends. Everyone's straight, except for two girls that are bisexual.

This may come across as being waay to nosy, I'd like to ask a question, if I may?

When you say that men repulse you, is that in a strictly sexual sense or do we just repulse you in general? If the first, well, that's understandable. If the second, then, how do you make that work?

I only ask because, as a straight dude myself, I can't say that guys repulse me. I'd not have sex with one, but I sure don't find us repulsive. So I just wonder in what sense you are repulsed.

And if this is none of my business, you have my sincere apologies for being so damn nosy. :)
I mean sexually. I'm not one of those bra-burning man-hating lesbians. I have male friends and everything, I just die a little inside at the thought of their junk going near/on/in me. Ick.
Thank you for answering. :) It's much appreciated.

And now I'm gonna go protest against prawns. Those little buggers are ruining the moral fabric of society!
