Love the metaphor. Out of pure curiosity and little else, are there Bi people who don't lean more towards their own sex? I only ask because I don't think I know any, unless the ones who do lean to the opposite sex simply consider themselves straight or something.

Anyhow...

I actually didn't realize the metaphor at first, but noticed it in proofreading my post before submitting, laughed a bit, and left it in.

As for your question, I'm not too sure. I only know one other bisexual personally and he's the same as me, so I can't answer from experience, but I can definitely picture a guy whose more attracted to the females, but occasionally dabbles in the homosexual side of things.

Support? Dunno what that means. Do I have a problem with it? Yes and no. AFAIC people can be/do what they want when it comes to their private life. I've had good friends who were gay. Hell, my mother is a lesbian and my GFs brother is gay, so my life would be difficult if I had a major issue with gay people.

However over the years it has come to my attention that my body type (very slim) seems to be quite attractive to a lot of gay men, and some of them just won't take a hint. At first I found this flattering but over the years it's become annoying. Gay men hit on me all the time and some of them won't accept anything short of "fuck off" as a "no". It really pisses me off, having to be rude like that, but polite hints just seem to go straight over their heads.

I also get annoyed at the confusion there seems to be between acceptance and participation, or between heterosexuality and homophobia. For example, I have no particular desire to see Brokeback Mountain because I'm not gay. But some people see that as homophobia. And some of those people even go so far as to suggest that homophobes are closet homosexuals. So... I have to go watch a gay movie to prove I'm straight? Can someone please explain that to me? Then there's things like the Mass Effect games. In the past I have openly spoken against homosexuality in Mass Effect 3. I wouldn't mind it if Bioware were capable of handling it properly, but they've proven again and again that they can't, and I get enough pushy gays hitting on me IRL thanks; I don't want to pay money to have it happen in my videogames!

I guess the point of this rant is that I think the "live and let live" mentality should go both ways. Gays shouldn't be persecuted for being gays, but I don't want to be persecuted for being straight either. If I want to watch movies and play games in which the romances are straight ones, do I really deserve to be stigmatised with the label "homophobe"?

Oh also FUN FACT I have never heard a good argument for being against gay people, and if anyone has one please tell me, because i'd like to know if they actually exist.

I feel the same way and my gay friends do as well. Stereotypes rarely represent the majority. I guess most people think lesbians hate men, I really don't hate men and I don't know any girl that does luckily because it's ridiculous.

I am actually against homosexuality. I am a Christian and in Leviticus 18:22 it states that it is a sin to be homosexual. Now before I get nasty messages saying I'm a gay hater, I want to make it very clear I am not. I am very very VERY far from being perfect and I have sinned more than enough to cast me into hell over a million times. I am clearly not the judge of this. Matthew 7:5 says take the plank out of your eye before taking that spec out of the person you judge. Saying before judging someone for the sins they have done look at yourself and all the sins you have done. Someone once asked me if I saw a man who was a homosexual in the desert dying of thrist would you give him your water. My answer is absolutly! God does not want us to cast them into damnation. No one on earth has the right to judge because we all have seens that are equal in the lords eyes. And I absolutly cannot stand those people saying God hates gays. God loves you no matter what. When the song God loves all the children of the world he really means it. So I hope no one gets offended that I am against homosexuality and if you are a homosexual, I promise that I will not look down upon you at all. God has a plan for all of us we just gotta find it.

That sounds more like a matter of unfortunate experiences and people you hang with. Without context it's hard to say and about the movie thing, it also depends on how you present your opinion. If you would tell me that you don't want to see a film because of gross gay love then I might call you small minded. If you said you are not interested in films with any sort of special interest topic then a film like that would just not be for you and people have no reason to argue your opinion.

Ok I apologize if this sounds jerkish but to be against homosexuality is just plain ridiculous. I can understand if you're indifferent, but to be against something that a person as absolutely no control over (maybe some have a bit of control on whether they become gay or not but I wouldn't know) seems slightly barbaric.
It's like being against first nations peoples or afro-Americans. There is no reason to be against them unless you are hardcore religious.

Kissing, being overly flaymboyant. Those kinds of things. There is no inherently gay colors. Also: gay pride parades piss me off real bad. When we watch movies we live vicariously through the characters. I don't go to the cinema often, so when I do go I want to watch a movie I'll enjoy. I like some romance films (e.g. The English Patient) and the occasional romcom, but that's in no small part because I can relate to the male character and be attracted to the (invariably hot) female character. I just don't imagine I'll be able to relate very well to a couple of gay characters getting it on. Watching gay characters romance each other might be interesting if there's a good plot, but it won't be very relatable or enjoyable.

These threads annoy me, because the questions and answers and debating about this TRIVIAL ISSUE is so tired at this point. It's like, OMG, people are gay. Homophobes get over it. Are people still asking why people are gay, how they are gay and defining their lives on the sex they have? It is what it is. Get over the stupid hangups. I don't understand why this is still an issue.

With that said, I 100% believe homosexuality as acceptable, because that's what it is. Overall, in the grand scheme of things, there is nothing moral or immoral about homosexuality, it's simply a part of the world and it's overall operation.

Oh, and I also hate heterosexuals who say that gay people flaunt their sexuality. I keep reading heterosexuals saying "why do gay people announce their sexuality." Straight people are always announcing their sexuality. Why do heterosexuals say "as long as they don't touch me or bother me"? Are you that PARANOID? Do you think gay people are going to go after you?

Also it seems a lot of heterosexuals believe that gay=sex. They are FIXATED on gay sex. That has nothing to do with "Oh, it's unnatural and gross." I don't fixate on things I don't like. That more or less proves to me homophobia is of a psychotic mentality. They say they don't care about who is gay yet they clearly are against homosexuality. There is no such thing as being gay friendly and also not accepting a persons' gayness. Gay people are gay. So, deal with reality, and move on, and stop creating issues of non-issues.
