when I first started playing WoW many many years ago, I started off on Horde, because thats what my friends were playing. I quit playing two years ago this month, and in the time that I played WoW, I never got an Alliance character past level 12.

Why?

Because, I never got help from anyone. You ask where something is in General chat while playing Alliance, you get dead air. You do the same while playing Horde, you get directions, coordinates, and if someone wasnt overtly busy, they'd form a part consisting of you and the other player, and that player would show you where to go directly. The Alliance is filled with kids, and the BS level is higher while playing Alliance.

Played Alliance for 2 years, I always thought the struggle between the Horde and the Alliance to be bullcrap, and largely fueled by personal grudges, especially from the Alliance side (I'm looking at you Wrynn!). As a gnome I'm always comfortable with almost all races, so I never held a grudge against the Horde and I frequently quested alongside Horde players, helping them with escort quests and vice versa. But then Wrathgate happend, wich did it for me: Wrynn, you're an asshole who's unfit to lead. I rather helped Thrall defend himself against Wrynn then the other way around, as I was forced to. Stupid Wrynn, with his bigotry.

Other then that, the Alliance is indeed filled with not only retards and kids, but also people with a shitty attitude. That's especially shown in world PvP, questing and Battlegrounds/Wintergrasp. Alliance is never bothered to work together to win BG's, I've had more occasions of Alliance players simply walking by me while I was attacked by Horde (while Horde players almost always help eachother) and you'll indeed rarely get help from anyone (luckily I had a really nice guild most of the time) outside the trade channels (wich are still pretty helpfull). But especially the BG attitude makes me angry, it transforms BG's from a potentially fun minigame (and it ís fun when both Alliance and Horde are working together and both actually wánt to win) into a boring grind. If Alliance actually showed some damned spine every once in a while, but nooooooo 'this will get me tokens faster, lets loose quickly guys!"...gah...
I never had the energy to reroll though, in the 2 years I played I only had 1 max level character every time.

The Alliance's planet? Yeah sure it is.... Is the Earth also America's planet? the Night Elves fucked up pretty badly and here's the clincher, without the Horde or Alliance Azeroth would not exist The bronze say it in the BM quest line and in the revised War of the Ancients if it weren't for Rhonin (Who is technically not even Alliance so suck mah' big greens) and Broxigar the world wouldn't have been saved.
It's not like saying it is America's planet!
It's like if a bunch of aliens came down onto our planet, landed on (for the sake of the example) American soil, killed millions of them, then moved to Texas, claimed it all for themself and complained that there were still Americans in "their" land.

Fair enough about Broxigar, although I would argue Rhonin does count as 'Alliance' as he was fought for the Alliance during the Second and Third War (especially in Day of the Dragon). Even if he is neutral now, that's only because Arthas is such a huge threat (nice to see the Horde and Alliance at each others throats thanks to Varian)! But the point still stands, Broxigar is pretty badass.

PS: Nerd rage is fun, no need to apologise for it! I enjoy debates like this.
Ok a bunch of aliens came down, they killed lots of people, but then we started killing them infact we even destroyed they're way back home, then we killed more and enslaved them for years then an alien comes out and starts freeing his brothers as peacefully as he can, for arguements sakes there is a large island roughly the size of America off the coast of America and they decide to move there. Is it really a good idea to still go after them?

I used to be relatively neutral on the Horde vs. Alliance thing but the Burning Crusade put my sympathies firmly in the Alliance camp. At least before the Blood Elves showed up one could make the argument that neither side was morally better then the other.

Then the Draenei show up, who are destined to join the "Army of Light" and vanquish the Burning Legion, and the Blood Elves arrive with their magic addiction, holding what for all intents and purposes is an Angel in their capitol city and syphoning power from him.

This is all well and good and I'll be the first to say the Blood Elves have largely mended their ways after the Sunwell episode but just when the Horde is starting to find its stride again Wrathgate happens. Holy crap that pissed me off so bad. I've had many arguments with friends over whether Varian was justified in getting pissed off at the Horde and all I can say is the only thing he's guilty of is overreacting a little bit.

The Horde willfully employed a Dreadlord, the Horde commissioned the plagues that killed Bolvar Fordragon and hundreds of Alliance soldiers (and Horde to be fair). In Icecrown it is the Horde that attacked the Alliance from behind at the Broken Front, it's the Horde who still allows slavery in their culture and can't keep track of their major factions.

Not to mention that I think that the Hellscream family is quite possibly the worst thing to happen to Alliance/Horde relations and sentient life as a whole on Azeroth.
Why does no one understand this M'uru deal properly? He let himself be captured! as a Naaru he could gone anytime he wanted to, it was neccessary for him to suffer like that for the good of Azeroth and the Blood Elves. (I remember in some quest chain A'dal explains it)

The Draenei need to get off their damned high horses (elephants?) they can't be the purest and blah, blah blah when two of they're leaders are now the second in command of the Legion! I personally much prefer the Lost One to the pure Draenei as the lost ones understand that the world is trying to reject them.

The Horde employed a Dreadlord? No Sylvanas did, the only reason in doing so is because it was the only way to beat the other two, I agree she's stupid for trusting a dreadlord but then again the Nathrezim serve whoever they deem the most powerful if it wasn't for whoever that was in the Battle for Undercity (Here's hoping to Ol' Sargy) then he would of continued with Sylvanas meaning Putress would have crapped up big time on his revolt. (About the plague canisters themselves the Orcs and Trolls never liked it and the Tauren have always hated the idea but they were designed to be aimed at opposing Alliance forces and the Scourge, Putress however hijacked a couple.

The Hellscream family is a tragic one, I hate Garrosh for all he is worth but I think he is going to go the way of his father, doing something that would somehow lead to the world being saved. Grom himself was less a dickhead then he was "set in his ways" the Old Horde believed if it didn't like you then kill it, that meanst Humans/Night Elves/ Demigods.

Thrall > Varian

Garrosh All of them (Dude jumped into the twisting nether and saved the world and a cut into the leg of the ultimate evil)
L80ETC > Stormwind Polka Band

(Jaina also doesn't count as she is part of the separate Kul Tiras faction which only ever aided the Alliance)
Aw, HELL naw.

Uther = Grom, broski. And why are you comparing Thrall to Varian? How about Thrall to Arthas (though Thrall to Jaina, Furion or Tyrande might be more apt), Varian to Garrosh (in which case Varian schools that emo Maghar), so on and so forth.

Thrall = Furion
Jaina > Sylvanas
Varian > Garrosh
Magni > Cairne
Velen > That Blood Elf Guy
Uther = Grom
Bolvar < Saurfang (I'll concede that, but Bolvar is a badass in his own right. See: Onyxia Chain, Wrathgate)

Plus Alliance has Muradin Bronzebeard, Alleria and Turalyon, Kurdan Wildhammer, and Tirion Fordring.
the blood elf mage commanders a dumbass who thinks hes an arms warrior
part of the reason i don't like BEs but im still a hordies at heart

You're right, M'uru was a saint. Doesn't change that the Blood Elves continued to do what they were doing, and to be fair and honest to them, I don't have any real beef with them anymore.

As for the Dreadlord, his very presence after the formal creation of the Horde should have sent up red flags with Thrall. There was more then enough evidence that Varimathras was planning something for a good long while, pre BC even. When you kill Balnazzar and take his head part of the quest chain indicates that he was communicating with someone inside the Undercity, and his very existence would have been indication of Varimathras's true allegiance. I like Thrall, I really do, but he is absolutely responsible for his subordinates in matters like this, and Sylvanas is even more at fault.

Putress was the de facto head of the Royal Apothecary Society. The fact that the horde had an agency within it whose sole purpose it was was to develop plagues was bad enough, it's no surprise that something like this would eventually happen, especially coming from a race that claims to resent the living as much as the Forsaken do.

Grom indeed was set in his ways. It doesn't help that his ways were inmical to the majority of life on Azeroth, and I maintain that a tremendous amount of bloodshed and animosity could have been avoided if not for Grom, this is of course, not to diminish Grom's last great act, which went some way to redeeming him. Garrosh is in many ways even worse, he has the same stubborn streak as his father. As a tactician and a leader he seems to be wanting in the worst way; unable to motivate himself at the best of times and blatantly ignoring the basic rules of warfare, diplomacy and tact at the worst of times (see his conversation with Saurfang in Warsong Hold).

I played as a member of the horde for the majority of my time in the game, and Ive been playing for the most part since the games start....

Just pick whatever Physical model seems better for you, and go with it.

Both the alliance and the Horde have their issues. both have exceedingly annoying people, AND good folk. both people have someone in relative power who needs a good sit down (*glares a Varian and Garrosh*) and Personally.. i wish we had the option to better interact cross-faction. Or at least make it so we could swap factions with enough effort.

I was hoping nobody would bring up the Wrathgate incident. I have one thing to say to that whole mess- your never really sure of someones intentions. I find it exceedingly foolish that now the horde and alliance are essentially at each others throats while we are practically right in front of the Lich king and of course Yogg-Saron, two of the most powerful kinds of being's the world has ever met, and there's no concerted effort to take them out?

I don't care if the Player Characters can do it all on their own, it smacks of horrible tactical consideration. I mean, especially when your sending soldiers off against either A. someone who can kill them and raise them for its own army. or B. turn them against you by making them go insane, or against immensely powerful forces that practically run the elements, therefore its suicide.

Pick your poison, and make with the ingesting I guess. ill stay horde... because i know the leveling zones after all this time using them.

It's such stupid nonsense. Why do people care about which 'side' they are on? Why can't they just play the game and enjoy it.

I only played for one month, but my characters were all Alliance. People who play the Horde are waaaaaaaaay too full of themselves to be around. I can honestly tell you as someone who doesn't play WoW anymore and doesn't much care one way or the other, Horde was pretty empty with not many people around and no one would help. Alliance always had lots of people and from my experience weren't especially annoying or obnoxious. I could form groups in Alliance pretty quickly, whereas Horde...yeah have fun finding people.

Seriously, I picked Alliance because they had normal looking characters. The Horde is full of big ugly looking weirdos. Just the nature of it. Oh, but let me guess Horde idiots - I'm a little child who runs around yelling "OMFGLULZHAX0RZ" and being a jerk huh? You're bad mouthing them just for the sake of making YOURSELF feel better. I have been playing EVE Online (Thank you CCP for the high learning curve which keeps the "OMFGLULZHAX0RZ" people out - seriously you people should look into this...) and there are even more race selections there. People run the gamut and are equally balanced in type for each race. It's not like this imaginary scenario Horde players in WoW seem to think up. Guess you need to put someone down to make yourself feel good? That's really pathetic if you ask me. I was Alliance and I didn't say anything about Horde ever nor did I really care.

Heh, here's a chart they made showing how EVE Online's difficulty curve is:
True stuff! But no tards in EVE Online. Not like WoW - can you say Leeroy Jenkins? 'Nuff said.

In my experience, it was the alliance that was always pulling immature pranks such as and not limited to:

Walking around pvp enabled to provoke people into attacking while having a lvl 80 rogue stealthed with him.

Blocking up summoning portals with mounts.

Trying to start a pvp war in front of raid instances by flagging themselves. Usually getting their asses kicked but hey.

making a lvl 1 horde, enable pvp and ask people in mayor cities for buffs so they get flagged as well, so the stealthed rogue can attack.

Alliance...

Never was a huge Warcraft fan (never played WoW)... but I'm always a fan of the Human races... as I was with the Terrans in Starcraft.

First thing.. i always like the "evil" race/faction (tho matter of point of view) :p they always got the coolest stuff and look awesome ^^

2 years back.. i played WoW... WOW! xD... i played Horde Side on "Doomhammer(UK)" one time i went on the alliance side... full of ****ing 10-12 year olds so i went back to horde and was happy ever after ^^ i got nothing against alliance... i just dont like those little bastard kids who whine and beg for gold constantly... we didnt have to many of those on Horde...only the goldsellers xD

played that heroine they call a game for 1½ year :p (played horde side in 1½ years, minus 30 minutes on alliance side)

Sorry if i stepped over someone toes...
