I need glasses to see properly, but it's actually bad. Truth is, I can read without glasses and - at a squint - things come in focus for the most part.

I only need glasses for seeing detail at a distance. I pretty much only wear them if I'm playing xbox or in class.

My dad has extremely good vision out of one of his eyes but the other barely sees
Yeah my left eye is basically perfect but my right eye is shit. Working together they let me see fine.

My eyesight is perfectly fine, though I don't have anything to compare it to so for all I know it might be shite. Which is strange because I'm constantly rubbing my eyes.

Without my glasses, I lose focus about six inches out. Everyone on my mother's side needs glasses and has for most of their lives; that's probably why my eyes are so bad. Thanks, Mom.

"Do you see that big 'E'? Well, I don't."
This needs a little explanation. This is a quote. From me. I went to an eye doctor once and they made me do the standard eye chart without my glasses and asked me to read the smallest letters that I could. I looked at the person and said, "Okay, do you see that big 'E' on the chart?" They affirmed that they did. To which I said, "Well, I don't. I just know that it is there." Yeah, it was a pretty short part of the test.
Reminds me of my last visit
Optician: Okay. can you read off the letters for me?
Me: Uh... you never put anything up there
Optician: ...Okay, try these now *puts test frames on me*
Me: *seeing there was letters the whole time* Oh... well shit

OT I'm short sighted so anything past like a metre or so needs some assistance to make out details. Also suffer from astigmatism so have corrective lenses for that which mess with peoples heads when they try them

Not terrible, but I need glasses/contacts at all times.

I've only been wearing glasses for nearly 8 years, I feel like I'm still not used to them and very self consious when out so will wear contacts, a lot.

At home I'm happy to wear my glasses all day though. I don't like having poor eye sight.

Both my parents have glasses, dad is near-sighted and mum is far-sighted. But I have "better than 20/20". This was first proven when I tested my eye-sight in school. And when I joined the military service, they tested my eyes and couldn't believe how good it was, so they kept testing and testing for the better part of an hour until they were convinced.

I think it would have been prudent to add another column for those who refuse to wear glasses even if they need them.

I have fantastic eyesight, and my friends and family rely on me to see things far away for them, or for my mother, aunt and grandma, to see things close up. I love that. My sense of smell, however... there's a reason people don't stick around in my apartment.

I only need them for distance. So I only wear them when I'm out or playing a Console game.
