So I thought we should rate our Internet services. Speeds, reliability, etc. Don't be afraid to name names.

I am in Australia, my area is currently restricted to 3G wireless devices. My provider is Vodafone, after 11pm, my speeds average at 400kb/s. Before that time, every day of the week, I can at best hope for 20-40kbp/s. On rare occasions I have hit 1.5mb/s, but that speed is like a Unicorn. I have a data cap of 14gb per month.

I have a 500/500 mbps fiberoptic line, with unlimited data.
I also have TV service and IP phone included for a grand total of about 145 US dollars a month.

Only after I fitted a SSD in my PC I realised that my download speed were limited by the HD.

I have 1000/1000 with unlimited data. My download speeds are bottlenecked by my modem (most routers cannot handle WAN-to-LAN speeds above 550mbps) or by Steam. Last time I downloaded a game I managed to hit 66MB/s before it finished.

It costs me $17.99 a month.

Our country has the worst internet in Southeast Asia.

But I spend a lot on it, so I chose the second to the last.

Pennsylvania, CenturyLink, live on top of a mountain. Unmetered, as is usual in the US.

Pretty crap.

54.75 Mbps download

10.11 Mbps upload

That's with AT&T on the faster of the two connections they gave us.

I have Charter 60Mbps... The apartment's wifi system has extenders but the central router is overloaded and crippled from a half crash... In other words it's shit.

Extremely stable, and only really ever goes down for maintenance maybe once every 2 months.

Oh so it's basically part of your taxes.

OT: 90down, 50up. I'd say it's 80$ Canadian each month but that's not particularly honest since there's a higher cost in actuality but that includes my land line and cable (I got one of Bell's all-in-one Fiber options, and even managed to get a lower price by bluffing about switching to someone else)

i have a 33 Mbps on download and 10 Mbps in upload, wich is fairly good for canada. i dont have unlimited, but i used to have 130 gb cap per month, however, since in quebec there's only two major competitor, videotron and bell, i threatened videotron that i would switch to bell, and they raised my cap to 400 gb per month for free, and gave me 15$ off my phone bill per month !

That's one of the things I love about this place, we may only have two competitors who are terrible, but you an always threaten to go to the other guy.

Funny enough though, the municipally owned internet service provider (who fleeces people who aren't from their town like me) went from a 100gb cap to unlimited free of charge when Bell started installing the fiber on our streets. OF course we still switched when they stopped having a monopoly, price was somehow worst. Let it not be said that public companies are inherently better at internet service provision.

Fibre connection in Urayasu, Chiba -

Fastest internet connection I've ever had, but the reliability's been a little crappy since a recent power outage caused by lightning strike, so even here the internet is less than perfect!

Between 1 to 10? I'll have to say; 'Australia'. Though apparently where I live we're going NBN ... So increase that to a 1.01 ...

Though there seems to be a big difference between poll options. I mean, I can download a full game (like are we talking 20 gig here?) faster than 6 hours, yet I can't bring myself to select that option and pretend that's anything but bog-garbage compared to the rest of the world and most likely much of the universe.
