I fancy the thief/rogue type myself. Solid power and a ridiculous, nigh inhuman in some cases, amount of speed. Unfortunately they generally cannot take a hit short of a hug without dying.

Well I'm not much of an MMO player but I like going with Warriors in any RPG the first time I play it. It gives me a good feel of the game. Plus heavy armor KICKS ASS. Then I typically move to rouge, but in DA:O I moved on to mage because I want to snort lyrium off of Morrigan's tits. (I was looking for the perfect chance to say that)

hey, if you do it right, a rogue can be an absolute GOD when it comes to dmg per sec. A rogue can enter stealth, set a mine field of traps and lures, exit stealth, cuss out the enemy, have most of 'em get destroyed by traps and have your warriors and mages do clean up. A rogue can dish up MASSIVE penalties to enemy stats using abilities/weapon buffs (poison). What's not to love?
you just gotta know how to use and lvl him/her up. focus on getting in quick, striking fast, hitting hard, and staying outta reach. anything that increases dodge/dexterity is a must.

The fast, stealthy one. It's always more exciting, the thrill of creeping around and knowing that even the slightest mistake could lead to you getting noticed and then killed.

I tend to not be very consistent with the classes I chose, but I tend to like magic, or range types like archers or gunslingers.

If i can I will play the healer. But some games don't have thouse then I will play as some sort of nature related class. Which atleast in WoW contains mostly DPS.

I always go DPS with a bow / ranged weapon first, if that class isn't a feasible option (due to difficulty in survival mostly) in that game, I go with a dual sword wielder dude...

I choose the Archer role since I like the gameplay style of being vulnerable to attacks, but dangerous when left alone... Also, Bows are tres cool :)

I usually play the Thief. Shortsword (fantasy) or Gunslinging (Modern/Futuristic) rogue.

Probably goes back to my love of Lord of the Rings as a child, where my favorite character was Faramir (as a stealthy guerrilla swordsman and not a ranger) and my love of Han Solo.

When I fist picked up an RPG, I saw a rogue or thief or the like and said 'That's for me!'

It's sometimes hard in more restricting RPG's, such as Fable II, where I have to play a Speed-based Swordsman.

Also, the Thief always get's the lady.

Any Dps that moves fast, so I can dodge stuff (chance in trun-based, actual dodging in ARPG)

I prefer healers. You're always guaranteed a quick party, people really like you when you're spamming the heals in difficult battles, and if you're smart enough to keep yourself from being a target so the tanks don't have to keep saving you, even better.

However, these days I do like me some tank action. Nothing's more satisfying than shrugging off killer blows while dealing a few of your own.

I choose DPS. I don't have to worry about protecting the team, and I don't have to worry about keeping the team alive. All I have to worry about is killin' scrubs. Killing is my business.

"What was the point of introducing wolf characters if they're optical illusions?!"

Wait, what does DPS stand for? I don't play many class-type RPGs, though generally I have a tank style of play.

Er, can i choose for an all rounder? Most RPG's that i have played have allowed for enough customization to have a a character that can take decent damage and put it out, and can heal. For example the Crusader class for the Elder scrolls. If that fails, i like stealth. I tend to play them well.
