I heal, therefore I am.

When I used to play WoW I reveled in the PvP as a resto shaman. I used to love holding a rogue trying to shank me for over ten minutes without success. I wouldn't even fight back half the time.

These days, I just go for the old "Nice guys give back" mentality ;)

I like the idea of using the very elements themselves as weapons against my opponent. The only MMO I ever played was Runescape and combat magic in that game was a massive money sink (for me, anyway) unless you ground a very dull and repetitive skill until your mouse was powder. (& I didn't really concentrate on combat anyway.) In Oblivion and DA:O, however, I was the very definition of a squishy mage.

I also kinda like Ranged combat, but it's not quite as adaptable.

Healer. I love helping out my buddies on any given game, and it helps keep me out of the fighting spotlight. Hell, it's the only class I played in TF2, Killzone 2, and Wolfenstein enemy territory, plus my old DnD character was all for the team healing.

Flexible, it depends the RPG to what class I play. In cases like MMOs... well I don't touch them really but I would end up playing healer or something I guess. Like being useful.

Guess I don't play many RPG's since I see a healer as a type of wizard, mage, magic user, etc.; a tank... uhh... warrior type thingy?; and dunno what the hell DPS is. Usually I just go for psychical attacker (soldier, warrior, etc).

DPS cause I usually end up sucking at either tanking or healing...

It's kinda funny when people whisper me in WoW asking me if I'm a tank or healer (since i'm a druid) and then shun me when i reply dps... no love for druid dps

Basically whatever one is most like a Mage/Wizard. Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Borderlands, hell, I even play a Medic in Bad Company because Mages also heal in some games.

Healer, because lets face it there isn't many of us and you cant make it though the dungeon without one. Also it's fun to let the retard who didn't let my mana fill back up die.

Mages. I'm ready for anything.

If Oblivion was PvP, I'd kick your ass. WITH YOURSELF.

Illusion magic, ftw.
Hell yeah! Most people have no idea how awesome illusion magic is in Oblivion.

I've always liked being a mage/wizard/magical being becuase I've always liked the thought of creating something out of seemingly nothing by just using my mind. (eg. fireball, thunderstorm, items)

I also like rogue becuase I like being sneaky.

I tend to pick the class that gives me the most variety of useful abilities. That's usually a spellcaster, though.

Why is rouge not included? Or even more, a Ranger. I like to pick Rangers as they have a small responsability to help deal damage to enemies that gang up on a person, and pick of other rangers.

But since its not on there, I'd pick a tank.

The rogue, always the rogue. Moreso in DnD, I love being the thrifty, shifty klypto, sarcastic halfling who has a bad habit of stabbing things with his lil daggers.

DPS usually, mostly because they are usually the "darker" classes and funner to play. For example my warlock, demon-enslaving, soul-stealing badassery, and I dont have to worry about keeping everyone alive.

Do you guys/gals have a main class you like to play in Rpg's like Dnd or MMORPG's like WoW. If so how'd you decide that it was the class for you?

I think about this way too much and I really wanna stop changing my mind :)
why is ROGUE not included? and no rogue is not DPS, rogue is rogue we do fucking everything from scouring to infiltration to massive rape to support. Hell I've seen rogues speced out as archeologists, and they were better at it than anyone else.
Umm if you check the WoW site and actually all the dnd books a rogue is considered a dps class, and so are rangers so i kinda put them in the same bubble cuz theyre the same...but ones less sneaky and one likes to do it from behind :)
WoW doesn't have a say in the matter, and since I use D&D as the (nerd) standard, yeah you can spec a rogue for DPS, you can also spec him for pretty much everything else including human debuffing (anything he can sneak attack he can debuff) so no they're not DPS and whoever told you that is wrong (4Ed is wrong) *continues to whine pointlessly over the internet* >_>
um ok, wow is an mmo so it does count btw. What game has archaeologists in it and why does that matter. Can a rogue tank? no. Can a rogue control mobs? no. how exactly is that speccing a rogue for anything? I guess you can, but they suck at it. Wizards get a special mention because they can use all sorts of spells that can make them tank more, control crowds, buff allies and dps. Rogues can't do that.
do you really want me to post char sheets for a rogue, that can tank, one that can crowd control, one that specializes in using magic devices and one that does a strange form of buffing?
That character is a total tool if all it does is use tools to become other classes, also you could also just polymorph ur cleric into a fighter/rogue/mage/epic boss and make him some sort of retarded pig who kills mobs and tanks and kill single targets and makes the game a ***** to finish...sometimes dnd gets stupid and thats one of those ways

Rogue/Thief ALWAYS. I enjoy being to avoid roughly 90% of fights in any game because I just sneak past or Talk my way out of it.

D&D, WoW, DA:O and the like.
