The devil. A slightly bent hand creates a sort of 'bowl' in the palm that makes your clap louder and manlier.
Mostly like the devil, but when sarcastically applauding someone's stupidity I go for the full Standing Gentleman. Which is in no way a euphemism.
Like a gentleman when applauding performances, palm to shovel-like palm, and I use the devil method for formal speeches etc.

The way I do it isn't listed.
I keep my hands parallel and strike my palm on my left hand with the fingers on my right. It's a clapping technique I learned in chorus, as it generates the most volume and is the easiest to maintain.
