I don't swear all that much. It loses it's impact if you do it too much. I've been around people who swear every second or third word and it just makes them sound stupid, like they can't form proper sentences or something.

I really don't swear unless I'm in pain/angry, or something like that.

I really see no point in swearing when you're completely calm and collected. It just sounds aggressive and silly to me when used casually.

If i'm hammering or whatever and i hurt my hand it'll probably come out, but don't really choose to use it in normal convo when it aint neccesary.
At work having someone go "oh see f****ing bob over there go over and ask him to get those f****ing things over there" usually end up telling em off :D

I swear a few times a day, usually alone, but around other people too. Actually I probably do it a lot without even knowing it, but being Australian, it's part of the language. :p
I don't like it when people use it as evey second or so word, like people between 10 and 16 (probably even older) do, because it sounds trashy and low-class, but I don't mind the occasional curse, whatever the reason.

Profanity is fine when it makes sense in context.

It starts bugging me when you're watching a movie and all the characters are saying fuck all the time as if the writers wanted to pad out the script

There is nothing wrong with a little bit of profanity but when you use it as a crutch, it makes you sound like a moron. You basically can't express yourself without using it. I also can't stand when people swear like sailors around kids.

I don't generally swear. Even when I get hurt, I'm just as likely to growl, grunt or grit my teeth as swear. To me they're just words; I don't really understand why people think it makes them "cool" to use profane language or whatever. But I also understand that they are words that some people find offensive, so I keep it to a very low minimum usually.

i try to be considerate of the company i'm in. with my friends, nobody gives a shit. my parents, they care a lot. so it's just a matter of who i'm with. if i don't know you, i won't swear until you do.

I believe swearing is an essential part of any language. It can used to emphasize when used properly. Sometimes flowery and....polite words simply are not enough to make your point or express what you want.

I avoid it around my mother and children, and I let a couple out around my dad who is fine with it as long as it's not excessive. Around my friends and girlfriend, I just say what I want, which includes the classics. When I'm playing a game alone and I get upset, fuck you all.

I view profanity like using spices in cooking: too much is overpowering, but a pinch here and there can make things more interesting

I use profanity mostly when I'm angry or moments where using any other word doesn't justify the situation, but I do not like it when it's overused in something like a movie or a video game where it's used just to make it sound "grown up". At that point, it becomes annoying and childish.

I don't really care for it. It doesn't bother me, but people who use it too much do kinda annoy me. As for myself, aside from a few joke moments, I rarely swear online, and never in real life.

I won't use it when in "polite" company, but personally I don't see the reasoning behind it.

Sexual vulgarities and such, I understand; However, the taboo of language never quite made sense to me.

It always came across to me that they selected a few words to identify as "bad" and then decided that we couldn't say them because that would be bad.

So frankly, I don't give damn.

I only use swears to emphasise either how brilliant or how awful something is. I don't like it when people do nothing but use profanity. It's crass and in poor taste, and demonstrates a limited command of English.

Also, I tend to censor my profanity online.
