For those who dont know, KOTOR stands for Knights of The Old Republic. It was an old x-box game duo that came out in 2004-2005.

I personally feel that the series was great and I am currently lasting on the first while eagerly awaiting a chance to re-buy the second.

I loved them. I've been meaning to play them again actually, partially because I never did any side quests, and partially because my friends and I have started to play DnD and they use a similar system, so it might help me get up to speed.

Thread moved to 'Gaming discussion'.
And I love the KOTOR series.

Of course, I love any RPG that Bioware makes.

They were amazing, I am currently playing through the first for the umpteenth time (as a sith :D)
The second one wasn't as good, IMO, but still very good.

Never played the first, played the second for a weekend, loved it. I hope that the TOR MMO works out well.

Both games were great, despite how rushed the second one was. In fact, the sheer quality of KotOR II is one reason I'm so eagerly awaiting Alpha Protocol; I can't wait to see how good Obsidian can make a game when they aren't rushed by their publisher.

KOTOR is my third favorite game of all time so I think that pretty much says it all. KOTOR 2 was a step down, but by no means a bad game.

It's one of the better game series that has ever been made. I think the only other game I have played and completed more times then both KOTORs is probably Metal Gear Solid.

I don't think your going to find anybody who will choose anything besides the "I loved it!" option. One of the best RPGs I have ever played in my life.

These were by far my favorite game I've beat them every possible way (Male and female on the Light side,Darkside and Neutral) converted as many people to Jedi and basically did every possible thing including constructing the perfect lightsaber and finding 2 silver crystals. Also do not think that I'm bragging, I'm just stating all the great things that this game had to offer.

Oh man. I have to replay these games almost once every year. If not for the horrible (read: rushed by awful publisher) ending, I would almost prefer KOTOR II to the first. The companion influence system is great, and the story Atton tells you when you turn him into a Jedi? Incredible. If only Malachor V and the final boss battle were better, this game would be far and away the greatest Star Wars game ever. Instead, it's a close second.

I can't honestly answer this poll.

On the one hand, I absolutely love KotOR. I've played it so many times, and I still go back to it every so often. Yeah, it's glitchy and Mission's VA is bad and it's starting to show its age and some of the puzzles are annoying, but it's still one of my top 10 favourite games.

On the other hand, KotORII is a whole lot harder to describe. The characters in KotORII are far more interesting. Atton and Kreia alone beat out pretty much all the characters from KotOR combined (except maybe Revan). The deeper item customization and random loot thing was a step in the right direction, and the darker atmosphere was great.

But KotORII was horribly unfinished, had some pretty bad slowdown rates, and was just pathetic in the AI department, not mention that there were still serious glitches. I guess if you took the sum total of my feelings for KotORII, you'd get a "meh".

But anyhow... who's looking forward to Star Wars: The Old Republic?

The first one was great, but I could never really sink my teeth into the second one. It had a common problem among Bioware games where there's nobody around in the beginning and you're presented with a really opaque mystery that's slowly fed to you in a really transparent way. I've only gotten as far as the point where you board that ship that comes out of nowhere.
