Same here. I sometimes use them for fetch quests or treasure hunts as well. But only if it's 'hey I need thing. Go get it.' without telling me where thing is.Clirck said:Same here.Glerken said:I use them as a last resort if I have absolutely no idea what I am supposed to do.
Yep. I figure as far as achievements go, if it's a decent game I'm going to play through again.Glerken said:I use them as a last resort if I have absolutely no idea what I am supposed to do.
This, play once though yourself on easy or medium. Then with walkthrough for 100% on hard. My dad does that sort of thing for FF, he still hasn't beaten Emerald Weapon on FF7. But he did come up with an awesome strategy against the Don Tonberry in FF10, got himself 99 sphere levels for everyone without even killing the thing.Altorin said:my mom won't play a game without them.. I find they cheapen the experience, so I like to play through at least once before using them, and then using them to get all of the secrets..
Solving the game's puzzles yourself sometimes results in Eureka moments, like recently when I was playing oblivion's main quest through for the first time and I deciphered the Mystic Dawn's Commentary book.. I was like "Yeah, I'm smart." felt good![]()
Yeha it is a long tedious process, but your bobblehead collector stand just looks so annoyingly unfinished without them all...painfull2006 said:You gave a perfect example there
The last and probably only guide i have used is getting the accursed bobble heads in fallout 3
lets face iti was never ever EVER going to find them without it, even with someone pointing me in the vague direction they are in or even telling me the name of the map

That medicine one is sneaky, but at least you can go back to vault 101. i missed the energy weapons one on my first playthrough and as raven rock blew up I had no idea I'd just screwed my chances of ever finding the energy weapons one...pvtchunders said:*Picked other
I usually use them for games that after an hour of play, I've realized that I could miss something that'll effect me later (which, the last time I was aware of this before it was too late, was Fallout 3. Damn medicine bobblehead... though, I could've used console commands, but that's worse.)
I'm a quite a bit of a min/maxer type.
And after I've beaten a game, if I feel like I want to play it anymore, I'll use a guide on my own free will. (like to find all the tapes in Bioshock, but that was more for the story. I missed Sander Cohen's Bunny-man tape.)
