I did that once. But then ended up rather liking the whole album.
It was Infinity on High by Fall Out Boy, if you must know.

Don't worry, I'm an FOB fanboy too. Along with P!ATD and Paramore. If any hate is to be poured, allow me to share in your fate :)
...YAY! Someone else who also likes Paramore and P!ATD.
But didn't Panic drop the ! from their name recently?

[sup]EDIT: My spelling and all round awareness is off today. Changed a mistake.[/sup]

Well, I download most of my music, and when I do buy a CD, I rip it to iTunes immediately. But anyway, enough smartassery, I usually listen to albums in sequence, although sometimes I'll just hit my entire library on shuffle. When I'm out and about, I ALWAYS listen to an album through. Pendulum's Hold Your Colour is a favourite for the bus ride to uni.

I listen to all the songs on an album. Most of the time i fall in love with it and don't listen to much else for a while either.

I believe they restored it quite recently, let me just check.

(Goes off to check Wikipedia)

Yep, they've just restored the name, though two of the band members have left to form another group. The remaining guys are working on a new album :)

I hold it up against my ear with one hand and stroke it gently with my other hand whilst whispering softly to it.

If I buy a CD I listen to it all, and in order. Usually in Audiosurf these days. :D
Yay for Audiosurf. When I get a new album (on the Internets or on CD), these days my default way of listening to it is to fire up Audiosurf and go through the whole thing start to finish. Then I stick it in my music library, and it's anyone's guess what'll happen with it from there. Some albums are good enough that I continue to listen to them as a complete album sometimes, but a lot of them just aren't consistent enough and get stuck on shuffle along with the rest of the crap I've accumulated over the years.

I listen to the whole thing on shuffle. Mixes things up in my mind. I don't necessarily like the order of the album, but the album as a whole.

Never, we have nothing to say to each other anymore.

I offended it when I started to download songs.

None of the above. I don't buy CDs anymore. I download all my music because, when I last bought an album, I bought it because it had one song on it that I liked. I didn't like any of the other songs on the album.

The first time through after buying it, I play it all the way through in order.
All other plays involve me hitting the "random"/"shuffle" button on my radio or whatever computer I'm listening to it on.

Granted, with Youtube, Pandora and an iPod Touch, I listen to CDs less often, but some albums are just meant to be listened to in exact order and the fact that it's on a CD doesn't make it worse other than the difficulty in transportation of a CD player compared to my Touch.

My car also doesn't have an mp3/iPod adapter so I use my CDs there too.

Yep always listen to the whole albums. Usually I shove some albums in my stereo, hit play, and don't touch it again till all the albums have played.

I've switched entirely to buying music online because there are very few bands that are able to make an entire CD of songs that I actually enjoy. Most have one or two songs that are good and the rest are garbage. However, when there is one of those rare CDs that are actually good in their entirety, I will listen to the whole thing sometimes.

Is it just me or are a few people here referring to their digital songs on iPods etc. as CDs (Meaning the albums)?

When I actually buy CD's, usually listen to it through in my car on the way home/when driving around (little harder now since I can't drive). That, or I put it on my iPod and listen to it whenever it comes on shuffle, usually following a "what the hell is this?".

Prog as in between the buried and me? Thats the band I was talking about that I saw being interviewed. And that makes complete sense that they want people to listen to the whole CD if you have listened to Colors.
One of my favorite bands of all time, man. I couldn't imagine listening to Colors or The Great Misdirect out of order. It just wouldn't feel right.

I listen to the whole thing the moment I buy it. I've got a mate who hears a song, likes it, then downloads it. I ask him why he doesn't download the album it came from, or better yet buy it and get into the band properly, but he responds with "what's the point? I know I won't like it. I just like that one song" WHAT? How do you know that?? I find it ridiculous. He loves AFI's album Sing The Sorrow so I try and make him listen to one of their many other albums but he just doesn't want to... I don't get it

I don't. I either download music, or play long player disc records.
If I use a record, I usually let the entire thing play end to end.
