i play as a

"You have decent Karma, but aren't exactly a saint"

since i learnt that from the first two games, being good always seemed easier but you mostly had to steal things to get what you want.

mine is simple i do what is nessesary to survive
then i do what is nessesary to live in luxury
its basicly this blow up megaton then take all purified waters to carlos in rivet city before the combined force of talon mercs and regulators rip my health bar in half
i free all slaves i find and lastly i accumulate large amounts of caps, then i go to the housing store, buy all of it,kill the salesperson, get money back

Wait, you can shoot legs off? And they actually lie on the ground and fight with a pistol or something? I thought it just killed them.
You can't shoot legs off without killing them, but you can cripple both of their legs and have them sort of limp after you... fun with death claws.

Oh, thats what I thought, but the crippling system is pathetic. All it does is cause vision blurs or make them clutch their injured body part for a quick second. It's a nice idea, but IMO, its not worth it. I just aim to kill.

You obviously haven't come across too many deathclaws. Cripple their legs and they can't catch you, meaning an easy kill. If you don't cripple them it can fuck you up fast. Crippling arms causes them to a) drop their gun and b) have shittier aim and c) have lower damage if they're using melee weapons. Crippling their head causes them to be stunned for a few moments (as well as possibly worse aim, not sure), and crippling their torso is just a ministun.

Try playing an unarmed character. You'll see how helpful that stun/dropped weapon is.

Nope, only half through the game and re-starting it as of today as I have ignored far too many secondary quests. Unless you mean those blue giant crab things, but again, I just aim for the head/face. Sometimes with a minigun-wielding super mutie, I aim for the gun as it has a better chance of a hit than the head most times, but other than that, I stick to the FPS gamer law: if in doubt, aim for the face.

My first time really set the standard for what kind of character I am in Fallout 3.
The term 'chaotic neutral' is perhaps appropriate.
The first person you run into, I think it was Springvale (I forget her name too), she was being hassled by her pimp and such?

Anyways, the conversation developed normally, and I agreed to help her out, as a decent nice guy and all.. But when she turned her back, I shot her in the back of the head.
Kind of surprised myself as well.
I pillaged her house and went on my merry way. Go figure.

I try to be as evil as possible, and let me tell you there is nothing better than cutting a mans head off in front of his child or gutting a hooked you just boned.

And being a slaver and getting praised by my main man at paradise falls(He's just called slaver but he gives you unlimited items) never gets old.

The crabs are called Mirelurks. Aim for the face straight away on a deathclaw and they're likely to start taking chunks out of you.

Total saint I'm afraid. I have tried to play an evil character in many games, but I can't seem to get the hang of being evil. I don't have the heart for it.

I've played through F3, and actually haven't seen any Deathclaws either. Where are they?
As for the chunk-taking, the sound of that in earlier fallouts are still vivid in memory.

Seen some Yao Guai though. First time as a trader's pet.
That. is. badass.

Head up towards Vault 92/Old Olney (pretty far north-north-east, it's the urban looking area on your map). There should be one or two deathclaws around there. You're more likely to bump into them at higher levels though. There's a Deathclaw lair somewhere too, but I haven't found it yet.

Wait you're giving advice on how to get people killed? You sick, twisted person you.
The Dart Gun. That is all I have to say.
I'd never believe it if I didn't see it myself, how can a toy car on top of a paint gun be so awesome!?

Oh and today I'm off to Oasis! Wish me luck.
And tomorrow I'll visit the Dunwich Building, I heard that place was freaky.
Meh, Dart guns makes them too easy. Insta cripple=boring.

Oh, well forgive a RPG/Fallout newbie. Normally for me its "enemies there, shoot they ass". How hard can these creatures be? I mean even the supre-super mutie wielding a fire hydrant wasn't that bad with a few of the amoured people and my BB gun, I took it down. Its a plus if the creature is melee only. Killing enemies with melee only is like stealing candy from a baby.
