Poll: How do you play FPS games?

Depends on the game. In slower paced FPSs (like BFBC2) I snipe or play supporting roles such as medic or engineer. In fast paced FPSs like MW2 I run and gun.

Mostly it depends on the map size and the weapon set, but most of the time I'm a Run-&-Gun person.

I tend to run and gun mostly when playing single player, although if I get my hands on a Sniper rifle that's almost always my choice.

Online I'll do whatever suits the situation and game. In Halo, I usually run and gun. Gears of war, I tend to play very very sneaky. Red Dead Redemption, which has me hooked lately, is all about stealth and location. Not to say I won't go balls out at times, but I think always using one approach, especially online, limits your potential.

The assault rifle and a shotgun, generally, but I tend to play on hard difficulties where you spend so much time looking for good weapons that you hardly get any choice.

You should probably know that I'm still talking about Halo 1. And singleplayer.

That's the problem with the modern FPS'es. They hand out grenades to you, like it was candy for halloween. Clusterfuck is the word I'm looking for.

I am a sniper kind of guy, but i always end up being a healer ಠ_ಠ

I play smart. I'm adapting to situation. Sometimes I run and gun, sometimes I'm sneaky and sometimes I'm sniping. Well, the only FPS I play online (because it's the only one I consider to be fun) is CS 1.6 and you can't really play CS 1.6 with one constant tactic. You need to adjust yourself to various situations. That's what makes it a great game even to this day.

Mind you I haven't played multiplayer in an age, can't stand listening to the 12 year old kids talk about how awesomely leet they are with their super cool strategy of 'run like a headless chicken at the enemy than claim hax when you die'

Yeah that really annoys me. people just grenade spam and get cheap kills from it. It takes all the strategy out of the game.
