Poll: How do you play FPS games?

A healthy mixture between Run n' Gun and Heavy tactics. Hide behind many inches of Kevlar with strong weapons and while rushing the shit out of strategic positions.

I usually play sneaky with my sniper rifle, since running and gunning always gets me killed. I'm not afraid to use my rifle in tight spots too, since I'm a quick draw with most guns. Never failed me since second grade, fighting against high school knobs.

When I play COD (rarely) my guns are usualy silenced with the relevaent "sneaky" perks and I tend to go off on my own "covert ops" style. But in games where stealth is not an option, I go sniper.

Sniper/Tactition.I am the guy that picks of enemies and the 1 teammates go to for orders,but sometimes i become a support gunner if needed,for example, games like Battlefield BC2

I like to play as support. I follow others who like to run and gun and give them backup. I'm especially useful in games that actually have support classes, such as Team Fortress or Bad Company 2. In fact, as a medic in BC2, I'm always within the top 5 for my team and I only ever kill about 4 people max.

I run in and beat them to death with my bare hands/rifle butt/pistol grip, or combat knife them/special melee weapon them to death. If that isn't an option, I use my shotfun.

Most of the time I prefer to kill from a distance, but it mostly depends on the game.

For example, if I'm playing Timesplitters and manage to find a tactical 12 gauge, you better believe I'll start mowing people down like there's no tomorrow.

when i was new to the fps's i would run and gun but now that i've been playing for a couple years and pretty much win most of my gun fights i like to play aggressively with the sniper. it's just more rewarding to get those kills

I only play single player but I tend to go sniper. If I can see them, I want them dead before they spot me.

I like to mix it up. I use a wide variety of tactics even within a single game. In Call of Duty 4 for instance I usually use assault rifles at mid-range, but I'm equally handy with a shotgun, pistol or SMG at closer ranges and often make heavy use of explosives such as C4 and stun grenades. I make use of perks like "Dead Silence" in quieter matches so I can sneak up on enemies, and combine the "Stopping Power" perk with accurate rifles like the M14 to effectively drop enemies at range with just a few shots. About the only thing I'm not all that good at in this game is sniping, though if I do use a sniper rifle I do a lot better playing offensively than defensively.

I am usually the type who is decked out in heavy body armour and carries a LMG of some sort.

In Tf2, I play heavy. Give me a good medic and I can take down the enemy team in one life.

In Bad Company 2, I either play engineer, or Recon/Assault with shotgun. I like close range combat.

Eh, changes depending on the situation. I'm more of the "Get behind some cover and pick the enemies off from there" sort of FPS player. So I guess, I'll go with Sniper.

Sneak around learning about my opponents then I find a tactical position ready my weapon and attack. After I get through a couple enemies I basically run n gun knowing they're no match for me now that I've weakened them.
