Language evolves. And noone says their alphabet from a to zeta. Noone says zeta. We are in the twenty first century. Latin is dead. Duh. And why bother keeping ties with the Latin pronunciation of z? All the other letters are changed. C sounds nothing like gamma, but you prob'ly pronounce it "see."BaronOfStuff said:Zed. You know, like near-enough the rest of the entire English-speaking world, and similar to how most Indo-European languages pronounce it too (derived of course from "zeta").
To me, "zee" sounds like it was made up by someone incapable of pronouncing "zed" or "zeta" properly. Hopefully it was because they didn't have a functional tongue, and not just because they were too lazy to use it.
"Zeta" is Greek. Not Latin.connormcan said:Language evolves. And noone says their alphabet from a to zeta. Noone says zeta. We are in the twenty first century. Latin is dead. Duh.
