Zäta, but I'm swedish :p

If I really want to stress that I am trying to say Z I pronounce it "Zed", otherwise I think it might get confused with C

Zee.

Not once do you ever pronounce any word with Z in it as "Zed" and it doesn't match up to the rest of the entire alphabet.

However since that is the case, who really cares? Zee, Zed, ZAMBOOZLE. It's pronounced the same exact way in every single word no matter how it's pronounced on its own. SO LET'S ALL JUST HANG 'EM BOTH OUT TO DRY AND HAVE A WILD PARTY!

It's Zeta, but in modern English it is almost universally accepted that Zed is the correct pronunciation.
Seriously, how has this thread lasted so long?

I say 'zee' typically, as I'm an American, but I'm contemplating saying 'zed' from now on in order to piss off my American brethren. It sounds cooler, anyway.

Zee, because it rhymes with other letters of the alphabet, and sounds much less silly.

Zed. Thats the way I was raised, the way the vast majority of the English-speaking world says it, and the opposite to the way the majority of Americans say it.

The last point is the most important (jks, ofcourse... maybe :p)

There's another way to pronounce it? I say "zee" because it just sounds better. "Z" does not look like a "Zed". It's simpler that way.

Big deal. Basically everyone outside the Commonwealth drives on the right side of the road.

It's inconsequential and I know it. However, if someone insists in zed being proper, I do have this to say: You pronounce the h in Herb. I don't, but I admit that fair is fair, your way makes more sense. "erb" sounds proper to me but I can admit that that is because of my cultural immersion. But while you need a vowel sound to make the letter z into a proper sounding word, the letter D has absolutely no place in there. It is irrational. Zed sounds silly, ruins the rhyming scheme, and does not clarify anything. It is dead weight. It doesn't matter enough to make a case for, but if you must make a case for Zed, I must point out that its a bad case to make.

I chose other.

I pronounce it "Zarnifablargabergensire"

Take that established order!

EDIT: Holy mother of balls... This is by FAR the biggest flame war I have seen on the Escapist. And it's all over the final letter in the alphabet. Wow. Just..... Wow.
