I like the idea of someone who saves it for marraige. (or at least true love) I still hold on to my idealistic teenage beliefs about sex being something to hold in high regard. Sure its easy to get, but it wont mean as much if its easy all the time.

I once saw a speaker compare casual sex to duct tape. He took a strip of duct tape, and put it on the arm of a random audience member in the front row. Then, he peeled it off. The person said it hurt, and it left a red mark. Then he went to the person next to them, and stuck the piece on them. He peeled it off, and they said it hurt a little. He went all down the front row doing this, until the piece of tape didn't stick at all anymore.

He explained the point of that was to demonstrate how casual sex felt to him when he did it as a teenager. Sure, it was great at first, but because there was no love or emotion behind it, it just lost is potency, until it wasn't anything special anymore.

Well, first off, there is a difference between a hack like Stephenie Meyer and the greatest poets the world's ever known. Sex is the central theme of Goethe's Faust and Boccaccio's Decameron, two of the best and most important literary works in the history of Western culture - among many, MANY others.

As for the rest, I misunderstood you, and I apologise. I thought you meant that the act was per se meaningless.

But yeah, while sex even just for the sake of sex can be great, having sex just to get rid of peer pressure is stupid, especially since it demeans the act. We're absolutely agreed on that. I like what they used to do in Italy: When a boy turned 14, his dad or uncle would take him to a whorehouse, just so the kid got it out of his system. Any pressure was gone, and he could treat sex like a normal aspect of life.

I hate to admit it, but I do feel a certain sense of superiority over virgins. Just because most of my friends are, and they've always been the proud, snooty type, and me having something that they don't always irked them. Or being better than them at something. So most virgins I know are passively jealous. Although my best friend who has had sex is jealous, because I have sex within a stable relationship, and he's only had a few drunken slings that didn't even last till the next morning.

All in all, I have very little regard to this distinguisher, but my feelings at all are that they lose a little of my respect. Relationships are a very worthwhile pursuit, anyone who thinks otherwise tends to be kidding themselves.

There are so many reasons someone might not have had sex yet, I think its none of my damn business and likewise I'd like people to leave it alone in regards to me.

It could be religious, maybe they're old fashioned and waiting for marriage (their prerogative), maybe they are focusing on work at the moment, maybe they aren't attractive to the opposite sex and they're trying - too many possible explanations for me to care.
