I was talking about Master Chief and Johnson magically appearing back on Earth. The bit between Halo 1 and 2 that the book First Strike(I think) covers. As this isn ot explained after Master Chief leaves Halo in the games anyway. When you quote my point you said it as if I was talking about the gap between Halos 2 and 3 just wating to clarify we were talking about same plot point.Gutkrusha said:I'm not sure what his modifications have to do with him falling out of the sky...But I do get your point. I think the reason they didn't do a tutorial mission was mainly because as the third game in the serious, it would be fairly pointless for someone to play it before the other two games. It might have been cool to escape from the ship, but not in halo 3, it should have been the last mission in Halo 2. Also, on the first bit, what do you mean about halo 1 and 2? Which plot point, exactly? If you mean after the end of Halo: Combat Evolved, The Master Chief pilots a Longsword Fighter out of the Pillar of Autumn and away from the Halo structure. If I misread, please tell me. (Of course that still doesn't say exactly how he gets back to earth..)Glademaster said:I have read the books also so I do know the back story I just wished it was shown in the game. Your point on the Battle Rifle I know it is good but it's poor ammo consumption and lack of ammo drops for it makes it a bad weapon atleast in my eyes. Although when you do it hit is powerful but you need to make every shot with that gun count or else you will not like it.
The first plot point you quoted was regarding Halo 1-2 which was not explained in the game at all. Only in Halo 3 can you make sense of it. Also on second plot point I do know that he jumped from the ship but how he got out of the ship without being seen and with no fight at all is pretty big plot point. Keeping in mind the biogenitc engineering to them the falling out of the sky is pretty piss poor way of him meeting up with them as they could of used the level as a tutorial with the Chief sneaking out of the ship via escape pod which would have linked the games much more fluidly.
I do agree here though. I really liked the Health + Shield part of the game.Glademaster said:I understand that you can't take many shots with the armor as it is not the best protection when the shield is down but amount you can take is sheer staggeringly small. I'd rather they kept Halo CE's health system than the full regenerative health as it makes more sense. I mean Marines take more punishment than you.
I guess the OP counts every member of the escapist that DOESN'T vote as a "meh".AwesomeNinjaPowers said:Why is there no 'meh' option? Cause don't give a monkey's about the Halo series
I was never really a huge fan. I just jumped on the "ohh, it's so shiny!" bandwagon and bought Halo 3. The multiplayer is nothing special and the story campaign is also no big deal. I also bought Halo: ODST and think it's a bit hard on heroic and it's just doesn't clikc for me.stika said:I was just wondering what is everyone's opinion of the Halo franchise?
For those who don't know Halo consists of the Following games:
Halo
Halo 2
Halo 3
Halo Wars
Halo: ODST
Personally I thought Halo 2 and 3 were good but not great, I loved the other 3 though.
What is your opinion?![]()
See the problem is that I'm a completionist and feel like I "must" complete an entire series if there are sequels. That and I'm studing at a university so I don't really have the time either.achilleas.k said:Well you should at least give the original a try. It's not like it's not a self contained story. When I played CE it was before Halo 2 came out and I had no idea there was a sequel planned so it's not really fair to say "I can't play them all so I'll just play NONE." At least you'll get to see what all the fuss is about. I bet it costs like $5 off eBay these days.stukov961 said:I'm not touching those, because there is only room for a PC in my heart and if I can't play the whole series on my PC, then it's on the ignore-list.
Oh, I completely understand. I do that a lot as well, but I make exceptions to feed curiosity. I can also understand the lack of time. I hate that I can't play every single game that gets released any more and that I have to prioritize and pick a fewstukov961 said:See the problem is that I'm a completionist and feel like I "must" complete an entire series if there are sequels.
