So there are more seasons and more series of anime coming out. Do you wait for the entire season to come out then pir- purchase it (see moderators? I'm learning) or do you obtain them and watch them as they come out?

I'm asking this because I've never had to wait for anime to come out before and I've watched around 3 lifetimes worth of anime in the space of a couple of years.
I don't watch much anime, but usually the ones I find/hear about and like are ones that are already concluded or haven't had news seasons come out in awhile.

I found that the animes I like the most are ones that are short. I really don't have time to spend on long and drawn out series(I already have enough of those I'm into that aren't anime).

An example of what I'm talking about is Baccano! Nice and concise at 16 episodes.

On the more recent front, I finished watching all of Spice and Wolf a few days(Actually watching it a second time right away).

I watched the first season on Netflix, and found the second season hosted somewhere else. When I get the money I plan to buy the box set and then the manga. It's actually the first anime I ever considered doing that. I just like the show that much; I find it to be brilliant.

Another factor that comes into play for me is if a show has a good dub. I can not for the life of me get into a show if I have to read subs. It is too much of a distraction for me to fully enjoy a show if I have to do that. The times I have watched subbed, I usually have to watch episodes two or three times to get the same understanding and experience I would get from watching a dubbed episode just once.

Most of what I watched is already collected stuff so I guess that counts. If it's not collected I'm not really patient with it (ie: I wouldn't watch anime on Adult Swim if I could watch the same stuff on DVD or, netflix). As for my language preference, I prefer Japanese but can tolerate most English dubbings. The last few anime series I checked out were on Netflix but I break out my Suzuka box set once every...couple months I wanna say. That seems about right.

I have anime channels on my cable.
It may be several years to one week delay compared to other channels, but I pay for what I watch.
Also, I find it good to watch it after the initial critique is done so I dont waste time on crap and just watch the ones that matter.

If I watched it, I would watch it after it came out, so I could watch a bunch of 'em at once.

I watched some Dragonball a long while ago. It was pretty good. But I never really got properly into it, so I kinda didn't watch anymore.

I get really sick of people saying that they only watch online because they can't get the shows in their country, like they are being victimized. If you need to watch a show that badly, there will always be a way to acquire it legally. You just have to work harder.

But then there are also people who will pirate because they want their supposedly superior fansubs with gratuitous swearing, because those were translated by true fans, rather than those gaijin baka dubbing studios who defile their precious shows with english.

Hence why I use youtube's official channels.

I'm trying to go more legit with netflix, funimations youtube channel and I'll probably get a cruchyroll subscription soon as well. I watch too much anime not to do it legitimately.

An anime podcast I listen to made a good point on legit anime viewing, anime really needs a platform like steam something you can easily get anime when you want stuff like crunchyroll is a step in the right direction but it's still not quite great enough. Region locking is probably increasing piracy as well, people that go on anime streaming sites or torrents you can find anime as fast as you can search for it rather than get hit with "This is not available in your country" messages half the time. Convenience a big reason people move to piracy (that and it's free) same thing Jim Sterling said about Sony's services and people pirate their stuff awhile back.

I never watch anime as it comes out. I usually get my anime from Netflix, but they haven't updated their selection in eons :(

I mostly watch stuff legally, whether the series is completed or not. Between Crunchyroll and the occasional series on Hulu, there is enough free anime to fulfill my desire.

I'm not sure if I can link the site, since it's a torrent site...but it deals with unlicensed anime and specifically doesn't put up stuff that's been licensed for distribution in the US.

This causes some issues, since some shows only have their first season licensed or their second or whatever. I'll settle for a clue just to be safe: Baka. :D

I've been downloading quite a lot in recent months, actually, so much so that I've had to monitor my internet usage daily to make sure I don't go over my cap for the month. You'd be amazed how quickly 200gb disappears.

If it is a standalone 13 ep season I'll watch as it comes out because there isn't as much drag. For the long running stuff like One Piece, I wait until an entire arc has concluded and then marathon it. That way I can fast forward past the three hundred or so flashbacks that Naruto will put into 3 episodes.

I'll only watch it on sites where the company itself will receive compensation for it. Hulu, the company's Youtube channel, and Crunchyroll are my favorites.

Which is why it grinds my gears when people complain about ads. Ad revenue is how people make their money off of these shows since we get them for free. They're a necessary evil.

For Naruto I just watch it online when a new episode comes out. And then when it comes out dubbed I'll buy the seasons. Even though I have like 6 left I still want to get.
