Poll is for the type.

For actual speed, try here: http://www.speedtest.net

I was curious to see, since The Escapist is from all over the world, how many people use dial-up and T1 lines, see if it's as readily available as it is here. I don't have one, but I think if I had enough money, I could have a T1 line.

I'll post mine when I'm home. My school has something ridiculous, like a T3 line

Also, I searched "internet speed" "internet connection" and "fast internet" or something along those lines, found nothing, and I suppose this poll hasn't been done.

New Zealand internet sucks.

Edit:

Best I've ever had. Ever.

From the rest of the thread, I take it back. UK internet sucks.
The main problem with my internet is that I only get to use 20 GB per month.

14 Mbits from work, should be around 5-6 from home. Both on German DSL.

3 Mbits.

Is this like, a list thread, or does it have a point?

I'm still on 512Kb connection, but thats only coz we live in a rural area. And i've heard that we can't get an upgrade for another 3-4 years

6.24 Mbits/sec download

0.36 Mbits/sec upload

55 ms ping

I'd be more interested to know what people's ping is, especially if they play Halo 3.

(place holder for my speed test once at home)

As you can see, testing my work's speed wouldn't be all that interesting

It depends on what you're getting, where you're getting it from, etc.

This site has the fastest downloads I've ever had. Even though Mb/s is not MB/s...

And it's also a tool to see if you're getting what you're paying for, you know? As opposed to paying for a fast connection and getting to use about 1/4th of it.

On-topic, I'm surprised at the amount of DSL. I have cable in my home...

Eh, not as good as it should be I think but considering that before this I was stuck on 56k dial-up I find myself not terribly heartbroken.
