Oh while I'm at it, if you're a brit, I HUGELY recommend http://www.ispreview.co.uk as it is all based on customer experience, and (surprise) it seems the big companies who spend most on spamming you with emails, ads, leaflets and reps knocking on your door in the morning trying to make you convert to their cult, (NTL, Tiscali, Virgin, TalkTalk), are the ones who consistently offer the worst service, whereas the companies you've never heard of seem to be the excellent ones, spending, as they do, all their money on service quality and customer care instead of ads.

Ping 33ms, but only 2.6Mb. But it does increase after 8PM to over 6-8Mb.

Does ANYONE else live in Western Australia and have Telstra as their ISP? Because I've been running at these speeds for a few days and they won't tell me what the problem is but they implied it is happening to multiple households over WA. Can anyone confirm that?

And no one can complain about their speed after seeing mine. NO ONE! *RAGE*

It's normally 1.3 Mbits on a 1.5 Mbit connection, though.

Well, my connection's about as stable as an elephant on a high wire.

I feel like Long Island should have it's own server for this test and we shouldn't have to bum off of Manhattan. Those jerks.

I'm visiting my family right now in Canada, and they have the fastest internet connection you can have here (rogers) and I noticed its way slower than the internet speeds in asia.

In Asia (e.g Singapore Malaysia Philippines) you click something and its done, here, you gotta WAIT. omg its so annoying. Like playing Wow, when I'm in asia, sometimes you have to wait for guys who are playing in the states because they just cant keep up sometimes with the speed.

You could say I got the NEED for SPEED

Not too bad I guess.
What alternate dimension do you live in where it's January 11th? Do you have a time machine? Because that would be pretty cool.

mines hovers at 3-4mbs download speed,
and 1.2-5 upload speed.

which is bullshit because im paying for 8 and they gave me a fucking step router.

(a step up router only speeds up your connection when it needs to be speed up) in turn it wanted to unleash all 8 megs, i would have to start a down load on all of my computers, and pray. not to mention, said computers would hog the connection anyways.

atleast i can play online *shrugs*:/

i have dsl anywasy
