I am a little sceptical about the guy claiming 130-150.

WanderFreak said:I can type on average 130-150 WPM, and I generally only use the (get this) first two fingers on my right hand and the middle finger on my left hand.
When I get all my fingers in there I almost top off at 200. I'm working at that.
So do I, Machines Are Us. I hardly make it to 100 wpm.Machines Are Us said:I am a little sceptical about the guy claiming 130-150.
That, my lad, is very hard to believe. I'm eager to see me wrong though, do you have proof of this?JackB said:I can type pretty fast. But my friend can type like 2 to 3 paragraphs in a minute.
Not an official one as far as I am aware. The infamous SCAMola said:Is there a test or something to determine your wpm?
But each word is different in lenght. Ugh, this doesn't make sense.Machines Are Us said:Not an official one as far as I am aware. The infamous SCAMola said:Is there a test or something to determine your wpm?
Just go into Microsoft Word, set a timer for a minute on your watch etc. and type as fast as you can.
To ensure it makes sense it's probably an idea to write about something you know e.g. what you did that day or something.
At the end of the minute simply look at the word count.
That's how I figured out my approximate wpm anyway.
Maybe there is an official way but it's not like you need an exact number, most people round it up to the nearest 5 or 10 anyway.
I don't know, but you can try it yourself if you want. The infamous SCAMola said:Is there a test or something to determine your wpm?
