Just curious, and please try to be honest. I'm personally not fantastic, but I have been gaming since I was about 3, so I'm hardly what you'd call mediocre.

Also, feel free to give reasons, such as genres you excell at (or don't).

Good enough. I am a good FPS player who suffers the occasional inexplicable dip in form, okay at sports game, shit at RTS games.

I'm great with Valve games. Counter Strike Source, Day of Defeat 1.3, Team Fortress 2...etc. But I generally am mediocre at any other FPS.

I'm great at strategy games. I am near perfect with any Civilization game. It's all the Risk I've been playing since I was like, I don't know, 6 months old?

I blow balls with sports games.

I think I am pretty good at nearly all genres, except fighting games. Never liked Street Fighter and those types of games.

Well, I'm pretty good. Been gaming my whole life. Rythm games certainly take some practice to be any good on the typical "medium" setting, but in every other game I can think of, for the past few years I always start off on "hard" mode. I mostly play FPS I suppose, tho I like RPG and RTS as well. In RTS I used to be pretty decent but not great, best of all my friends but online I got whooped a lot, but then RTS comes down to play time and optimizing your build queues. RPGs I usually find easy. Before I got bored of it ~20 or 30hrs in, I was playing DA:O on Hard. When it comes to online play, I usually do well in FPS games although for example in MW2 going into a game with a whole team of people on their 5th Prestige is going to make me look like shit since I don't put in the hours. But against your average team I do well for the most part.

I also am on NG++ in Demon's Souls if that means anything =P

I like to think of myself as an all-rounder. There's usually someone better than me about, but I can still hold my own.
As long as it's not an RTS. I always lose because I just get bored and resort to seeing how many of my dudes I can get to stand in a line.

The only game I'd dare toot my own trumpet would be for Crash Team Racing. Yes, it's old and so out of circulation even Google might be surprised someone was searching for it, but I've never been so good at a game in my life.

When it comes to the game itself, I'm always above average. I'm very good at understanding the intricacies of any game mechanic, what works and what doesn't, and using it to my advantage. Fast reaction times, quick thinking, plus understanding how the AI works as well.

Multiplayer, though, is very hit and miss. Team Fortress 2 is my favorite game ever, and I've never yelled at one with such ferocity. Either I'm dominating 9 different players and going 138-4 as a sniper, or my aim is so bad I can't hit anything, causing my to ragequit, because I know I'm better than that. Nowadays, I test the water so to speak before going full out, to see in I'm "in the mood".

In most shooters my K / D ratio floats around 1:1. In Gears it's 0.88:1 and in Halo it's around 2:1. I stay away from crap like CoD though.

I've beaten Mass Effect on insanity with a sentinel, but I've never beaten an L4D campaign on Expert :).

Edit: Oh, and my Rock Band skillz are as follows:

Guitar / Bass - medium
Drums / singing - hard

I'm best in FPS games(CoD4 mostly), where i reach pro level. Unluckily, my net now has 200-300ms lag:(

In RTS i usually use slow tactic, so when playing with other players i am quickly rushed, but in singleplayer even on hardest levels i can beat AI.

I'm moderatly good at FPS but poor at pretty much everything else. The only FPS games I have any significant skill in at the moment are the L4D games, although FPS is a competitive genre i'm personally not very competitive so I often appreciate Coop or single player most.

I'm good at FPSs but I am better at Halo (that game deserves it's own genre!). I suck at RTSs but I love SC, ironically, because it was one of my first games I ever played. I'm great (and best) at RPGs (like FF or Diablo) but I do suck at Fallout and Oblivion.

I'm a bit of an oddball, my two favorite kinds of games, RPG's and strategy games, which are essentially the same thing in many cases only on a different scale, I am exceptional at the first and quite poor at the second, usually. I usually play RPG's on the hardest difficulty settings, otherwise I can breeze through the game. I'm good at picking up the strategies and exploiting good abilities and ignoring the bad ones. Maybe this has something to do with playing Baldur's Gate on the hardest difficulty a few times, after that everything seems simple.

But for some reason, I suck at strategy games. Civ, RTS's, all of that. When I feel like attacking would be a good idea, I should've been further building my forces. When I should've been hitting the enemy to keep them from expanding, I'm upgrading my units. Maybe I just can't multi-task that well :p

I like to think I'm pretty good.
I'm very, very good in FPS and RTS's, but that's about it.
