I'm slightly above average at first and third person shooters when I'm playing in single player, but I'm terrible online.

I'm pretty good at both RPG's and sports games.

I'm terrible at strategy games.

And when it comes to rhythm games, I'm always "that guy" at parties.

I suck at FPSs but I still have fun. I'm okay at RTSs but I'm working on getting better. I love RPGs but I'm not the dude that completes them 100%, I like the character building and stories.

So in general a mediocre gamer lol, but I do want to get to a point where I can hold my own online on RTSs.

Now tabletop Magic: the Gathering I love AND I'm good at it. Deck building FTW.

Edit: I'm actually pretty damned good at mmorpgs. Bring on Guild Wars 2!

I guess I'm a notch or three above average.

But I absolutely hate hard games.
It's not that I don't appreciate the challenge, because I do.
But I friggin hate to do things over and over because I fail.

I bless Red Dead Redemption for letting me try again from about where I failed.
GTA IV made me cry bitter tears of pure rage when I had to do a long, long mission from the beginning.
That kind of shit makes me quit the game, and not return to it for months.

Hey! I love that too, it's so refreshingly rewarding to crush your challengers with a newly created deck.

I like to build big decks, because then you can do long, interesting battles.
But I find that a powerful speed deck is much more likely to win.

I'm pretty damn good. I play FPS at a competitive level, and I have only been PC gaming for three years or so. I'm only going to get better :D

Unless the game has a poorly-balanced difficulty system, when it comes to game where its ranked easy to one level beyond hard, I can usually at least beat hard.

My flat-out most notable achievement however is that in both Dynasty Warriors 5 and 6 I was able to beat Lu Bu at Hu Lao Gate on the highest difficulty, though granted my character had to have decent stats.

I'm pretty good. I seem to have a knack for video games, especially FPS games. I'm no pro or anything, but I'm certainly above average.

I'm okay at FPS games in general.
I'm great at RTS games.
I'm fucking legendary at stealth games (Splinter Cell FTW!)
I suck at driving and sports games.
I want to kill myself whenever I'm forced to play rhythm games.

Pretty good. It just doesn't feel like me to nuke Megaton or sell my buddies to slavers. Even when I roll a character with the explicit purpose of being evil, I tend to end up taking the high road.

Wait, what were we talking about?

I'd like to believe I'm "average" at gaming, but sadly, the gaming population probably isn't the same as the ones I end up talking to, especially since the release of the Wii and the crowd it pulled in. Hard mode is usually what I start most games on, with the exception of RTS games because they can vary wildly in their mechanics. Depending on what game is being played, I'd say I range from "average" to "that guy". You know, "that guy", the one who played the game far more than anyone else in the room. Guitar Rock Band Hero: World Tour 2 and Ninja Gaiden are some of my stronger titles, although the latter isn't multiplayer.

I used to be top dog and arrogant on 'home' servers. Then i got old and my reflexes arnt what they used to be. I started to be more of a support/defence person and now i focus more on taking care of the noobs i used to kill :)

In most games, i have my moments of glory but im a general all-rounder. I know where i should be and what to do but i choose to stay back and help. In L4D, i'm usually the one with most health and highest acc.

As of late i've been doing quite better than what I usually am, which I would consider being above average, so I'm above above average, which is quite good

I'm fairly good. Don't know exactly when I started playing games. I think I might of been about 4 or 5. I played the NES a lot, but when I turned I think 6 years old I got an N64. That was a very happy day for me :) Today I'm pretty good at FPS's, not great but good enough. Same goes with fighting games. Don't really like racing games (exception being the Burnout series) so I kinda suck at those. Games like Ninja Gaiden I start off a bit rusty, but after a while I get extremely good.

Just curious, and please try to be honest. I'm personally not fantastic, but I have been gaming since I was about 3, so I'm hardly what you'd call mediocre.

Also, feel free to give reasons, such as genres you excell at (or don't).
Age means nothing.
OT:I'm pretty good. I can own at SSBB and I'm pretty good at the Mario Karts. I suck at Megaman though.

I'm all around decent, excellent at fast paced RTS's (not too great at micro, but good at multitasking and really fast) but pretty bad at platformers. I mean, I will finish them eventually, but many of the prankster comet levels on Galaxy 2 for example took me more than 50 tries.

Depends on the game. I'm a great TF2 sniper, but put me at the wheel of a car in GRiD (a game I love, against all odds) and I crash within 5 seconds.

What qualifies as good? With RPGs, I tend to be a completionist that always finishes the main quest and every side quest that comes across my path - this was even true in the old days when failure was a real possibility (e.g., Bard's Tale 1-3, the Ultima series, Wizardry, SSI's gold box DnD games, etc.).

Bad is a bit easier to identify - as in, I am bad at FPS games (especially those with a horror theme) because I get scared and tend to either crouch down and hide for hours or run like a madman through the levels hoping I'm faster than the monsters. I believe there's still a saved game on my computer with a space marine who simply refuses to leave the safety of the tram (screw going into the alpha labs - that's where the worst f'ing monster are coming from! I'm waiting for the evac team right here).
