Grey is a color. Gray is a term meaning "in between" or "undecided".

Microsoft Word used to tell me that "gray" was not a word.

I think I remember at one point being told that gray is for a darker shade and grey is for a lighter shade.

Grey, because I'm British (insert inflammatory comment that sparks 8 pages of hate here).

No such edit in the quote baby! So therefore it doesn't exist!

Checked your country, fair enough. I'm just glad this isn't a "why does American spelling exist?" I'd have 30 pounds on at least 15 pages of ignorance...

I've never seen it spelled with an "a" I never even knew it could be written any other way.

I live in Canada, so therefore I spell it "Grey". It's not necessarily the "right" way, it's just the way the english snobs would tell you is the right way.

The majority of the planet uses the E.

You're pretty much asking where do you live, England or America.
No, not really. While the majority of the world uses the E form, some parts of the US use the A.

Tbh, I thought Americans used Gray and us Brits used Grey... (Maybe Australia, Canada and other English speaking countries use grey and gray I'm not sure which one they use)

Sorry if I seemed ignorant thinking that, I just thought with the whole colour/ color thing it might be the same for gray and grey. Please no having a go it's too late at night for that.

Personally I use grey :)
