I live in a seaside town where we have quite a few arcades, however I only really ever pop in there if I am bored and even then I balk at the fact that they want me to pay £1 for a go on a gun game that doesn't even work properly.

I used to go all the time when I was a wee lad. The only times I ever really go in there now is if we are passing one and someone challenges me to a DDR dance off to the tune of Video killed the radio star...

5 years ago. I felt old looking at pre teens lined up to play ddr. I played some prototype DJ Hero game, as well as a ton of Tekken 4. I had a win streak of 30 before the other players realize that waiting until I was done was a better idea.

2003 in Chicago as far as computer games are concerned, I may have played some airhockey in one since then...

Remember playing Tekken in one for about an hour in my youth, and playing the crap out of Point Blank and Time Crisis. My grandparents used to take me around the UK on shitty holidays and I dragged them into every arcade we went past, loved House of the Dead as well.

Point Blank on DS is defiantly not the same, my friend just found his NES and we are going to hook it up to a huge TV and play Duckhunt soon, don't have a Playstation lightgun or anything. :(

The last one I remember playing was that bloody stupid Silent Hill rail shooter... (shudders) that was a stupid idea.

I wish the arcades would come back to the UK!!

I remembered I used to go to Southend quite alot when I was a kid. The machines they had there were amazing. One out of the way place had a fully functioning 4 player Simpsons arcade cabinet.

That being said there is one in a shopping centre near my uni, but its a £1 a go! :(

That being said it does have:

- Rambo (the one with dual machine guns)
- Guitar Hero Arcade, (which is very nice, but there is no whammy bar)
- Time Crisis 4
- House of the Dead 4
- Numerous racing games, that aren't no where near as awesome as Sega Rally, and Daytona USA
- More racing games, but they are bike ones
- That new-ish SEGA Duel Gun game
- A safari shooting game, (I think its Jurassic park, but I'm not sure)
- And 2 Airhockey tables

I played some arcade games at a hotel with a game room this past summer. A lot of bars also have those bowling and golf games that seem fairly popular. As far as being in an actual arcade though? Probably been about two or three years now.

Probably in Cornwall over summer, I played some crappy lightgun shooter that wasn't even worth it. The last time I played a decent one, considering that I'm actually really good at lightgun shooters, was probably either Time Crisis 3, House Of The Dead 3, or Virtua Cop 3 (I happen to like 3quel arcade games, okay?) at a holiday camp a couple of years ago. Pretty good too. I recall one kid basically spent about ten to twenty pounds making it all the way through HOTD3, with various people jumping in (using his money too) to help out, myself included. We managed to win in the end, though it took a hell of a long time. That last boss (I think it's 'The World', unless I'm thinking of the wrong game/tarot card) is such a bastard to beat...

The last game that I played in arcades was Virtua Fighter 5 (or maybe it was 4). It was about half a year ago. On my way home from work I stopped at a mall. There was a small, unceremonious bunch of arcades across from a food court, and I had some extra change, so I thought what the hell.

The most memorable arcade moment for me was when me and 2 friends played Shadow Over Mystara to the end. I was the Cleric, and my friends played as the Mage and the Dwarf. I remember healing one of my friends so many times that he told me that I had saved him a bunch of tokens that he would have had to use to continue.

Another time when it was just me and the Mage, we finished the final fight with my Cleric landing the final blow on the boss (a giant dragon) over the head with a war hammer as the Mage bombarded it with chunks of ice. Good times.

I can't even remember the last time I played an arcade game. I do believe it was at a Dave and Busters, though. Anyone know the one where you pilot mechs in an actual cockpit while facing a lot of other people? That thing was freakin' cool.
Oh, yeah! I remember that game. It was awesome. I especially like how they'd hand you a sheet of paper that had the post-match stats, detailed what happened and when, and even had stuff like "(player) cries in dismay" for every time your mech got blown up and you (the player) said something along the lines of "oh shit!"

Oh god, probably like 10 years ago. But, a buddy of mine has an arcade version of Street Fighter 2 turbo... fucking awesome. We play it all the time.

About 7 months ago for my birthday, and unfortunately they got rid of most of the more conventional arcade games (Metal Slug 3 is no longer there).

It's a shame they got rid of it. I freakin' loved that thing.

About a year ago, me and my friend spent nearly £30 completing Time Crisis 4. At least I think it was 4...
I think it'd be better for my wallet if I gave it another few months before going near an arcade.
