As long as we can stop people from interfering with other people we should be fine. Tone down the politics and religion and we are great. In the end it doesn't matter because there will always be existance beyond the earth.

Um... straight from here to mars? We could do that in a couple of months. Terra Forming Mars on the other hand, will take some planning. Heck, Mars isn't more than a couple mil. Miles away (It just seems longer if you use the metric system), and the frequent air miles you get for a trip are outrageous!

Humans are survivors. I imagine we may be brought to the brink of extinction a few times, but we'll bounce back.

one major question I wonder is... how long will re remain human? once we left Homo-sapien, and became Homo-Sapien Sapien our evolution has slowed in our perspective, but still a few major things have changed.... our brains area actually smaller now... but have not loss mass, they compressed ( one argues the smaller more compacted brain is actually better suited for taking in, and possessing vast amount of data/stimulation, and there area few more things better known, such as some organs once vital being now useless, etc..

So... Modern man has not been around long at all, we've been around less than a second of geo time... going by an average we COULD have at least another 20 thousand years, we could make that reach for being a Class 1 civilization, and kill ourselves in the act, we could evolve past what would be homo sapien...... so really it's hard to say.

that's true.. and we HAVE been on the cusp of extinction a few times already.. hence why we have a huge genetic bottle neck...I mean we came really really close to being wiped out before.

I voted OVER 5000 for the meme similarity, but I honestly don't know. An asteroid could decimate the entire planet in 100 years or we could be around until the sun goes Red Giant on us.

If we don't kill ourselves first and manage to unite to confront the problems (most our faults) that threaten our existence, for eternity.

I found this article to be particularly fascinating.

You know he's got a point...even though he's a machine, and therefore was created by human hands.

Probably your average communist.

My friend and I have decided that I, along with everyone else, are figments of her imagination.

Sorry guys, but you don't actually exist.

Wikipedia has what you need.

Anyway, we will live until I decide to die, at which time I am taking all of you with me.
How did I know you were going to post that =/

Ah yes, you decided I would predict this o.o

Wow people are optimistic but the fact is we screwed the pooch and we can't fix it. To elaborate we have contaminated the environment so horribly it can never truly recover for tens of thousands if not millions of years. And I am not talking the boring shit like nuclear and manufacturing wastes I am talking Endocrine Inhibitors man. The most common one is bisphenol A or BPA, that stuff last eons and cuts male sperm counts more and more with each generation, that has been shown, in humans, with just minor exposure while in uterus. major exposure causes hermaphroditic deformations, in other words that chick has balls or that guy has a pussy. In amphibians males are producing sperm like females.
We are so screwed man... game over dudes...game over.
Even if humans eek out an existence eating moss and fungi the massive collapse in males capable of producing sperm not only in humans but in virtually all aquatic life and many land animals will cause massive extinctions and collapses in ecosystems world wide. No sushi, no pollinating plant (that means no hobs for beer), bees and other pollinating insects are going extinct too, and no amphibians means the future is going to suck or as Ignignokt and Err say:
"The innocent shall suffer...Big Time!"

So if I think I'm not real, and am part of someone else's imagination, what does that make me?

Well, I think I'm going to tick, we're already dead.

Simply because you can never have a reference point to life aside from "I think therefore I am".

But just because I know IM real, doesnt mean that everyone else is, or that anything is, or that anything matters, or anything has happened.

Think about it.
Philosophy doesn't exist with no one to make it so.
Existence as we experience it is a complex assortment of neurons in our brain sending signals to other neurons based on input from various other neurons through out our bodies so we could very well be in the Matrix as we speak or just code running on an immensely intricate simulation of the universe in an unbelievably powerful computer/s ala Big O. Because we can not prove without a doubt are existence without the assumption that everything else exists to validate our existence everything and anything can be void, we are in Schrodinger's Cat Box basically.
Assuming we do exist we also do not exist since according to some theories there may vary well be an infinite number of universes with an incalculable number of variances so my reality may very well not be yours. Yes I am a Nihilist and also an Amoralist.

What's with quoting the matrix? Fine, "The brain can't live without the body."
Yes, I'm a realist. Annoying philoshopical bullshit ends fast with a right hook to the jaw.
