Until they stop surviving.

That was my way of saying that we'll be hard pressed to successfully predict the future.

Anyone who clicked 'we're already dead' is a raging ******.

It doesn't make you look edgy and intelligent, it makes you look like a 14 year old who just learnt what the word 'philosophy' meant.
That brought a smile to my face.

I honestly have no idea how long that we could last as a race, for the only way that I would be able to make an educated guess is if I was within the future itself... I think that the time machine needs to be invented already, why not at least flying cars?

very long, we will most likely inhabit other planets and move on to other solar systems after the sun of the previous system dies out and so on.

Well, there are over 6 billion of you. I'm sure some will survive the initial purge somewhare. Not for long though =D
What I find funniest about this statement is that you presume to single yourself out from the rest of us as if for some reason, you are special or better than the 6 billion of us.
You are operating under the assumtion that i am human.
Also the assumtion that you aren't better then the 6 billion of us.

On topic: I have no idea how long we will last. we could last hundreds, thousends even million of years, we just can't tell. Maybe we will die out due to our inferiority compared to other creatures, or maybe we will be extremely lucky. We can't predict the future and as a result, I can't decide how long we will last, so I won't vote as a result.

EDIT: Although it does seem that the most popular is over 5000, so we do have high assumptions about humanity.

I read alot of Iain M Banks and i think that will be the eventual outcome. We'll become a species devoid of death, disease and in equality and live with everything we could ever possibly want in strong abundance.

You will survive for millennia, aeons and probably for the entire life of the universe. You're like parasites. Corrupting and taking over planets. Breeding quickly and using your curiosity and strong survival instincts, you survive everywhere.

Humans will always exist.
You stopped our procreation how will we continue?
Oh, that's only until you accept the Combine as your lords, masters and rulers of Earth.

That was certainly a convincing argument.
For the fact that you're only 11, anyway.
Well at least I've gone from 10 to 11. Give it a week and maybe I'll have a degree.

To be fair, your argument was that I had no right to say anything due to an expletive. You don't exactly hold the high ground here.

I suppose you fell into my 'raging ******' catagory though?

It's not a joke if no-one's laughing.
Humor does not work that way.
It's still a facetious statement, regardless of how funny it actually is.

If someone says "I rape children" and you say "Nobody is laughing," it doesn't make what they said a statement of fact.

A joke is something funny.

A faceteous, farcical or satirical statement is just that. It may also be funny, and thus a joke, but the two are not mutually inclusive.

And it what exactly where you meant to be satirising, anyway?

Global warming is a conspiracy, look it up. Once the NWO takes control of this world completely, there will be no limit to mankind's achievements from there, albeit most of us with be culled to begin the golden age. So yea, I think there will always be human beings in the galaxy one way or another until we are all hunted down or called home by our maker, one or the other.

All depends on chance. Humanity is walking a fine line, we have our eggs in one nest so to speak. Right now we are hurtling to space on a insignificant little blue spec, at any time we could be hit by an asteroid that we might not see until it was on top of us, or a star could go super nova in a nearby region of space. Space is a dangerous place, and long odds don't seem so long when it has been millions of years since the last extinction level event took place.

Because of that I really don't know. Today, tomorrow, a hundred years from now? Now once we expand from Earth and have feasible self sustaining colonies off-world, well then the universe is the limit. It would take alot to decimate us on just Earth, I wouldn't want to imagine what could make us extinct outside of that.

I doubt we'll last long in our current state. Eventually someone is going to launch a nuke and destroy everything. Then we'll just have scraps the population living everywhere.

Ok first off I'll try to cover this up with as little philosophy as possible. In reality, "better" is an opinion but realisticly and when speaking in general terms, It would be a safe bet that no matter what you type here, you don't think he's better than you nor does anybody else.

Second off, I will cover this one up with philosophy, technically, we can see into the future,If I plan on waving my finger in 5 seconds and say I will then do it in exactly 5 seconds then I have predicted the future. Now of course I had full control over the situation but wether in such a small scale or when reffering to problems like china becomming the next world's superpower, problems that are within our control, the future is what we make of it so if we know what we'll be doing then we'll be seeing into the future...sortof.

However I still say that we'll likely be here within the next 5000 years just evolved to suit the enviroment we've created.
