You have this whole console failure thing backwards haha. It's not supposed to be one xbox and everything else, it's supposed to just be the 360! hehe. I kid, that's some bad luck there though.Jester Lord said:i've lost a ps1, a ps2, two ps3s, a snes, a nintendo 64, and an original x-box. Same. Through Spectrum ZXs, Commodore 64s, Amigas, Mega Drives etc. etc. all have lived!Dkozza said:i never dust my consoles or give them ny special treatment and they have all survived. i'm just lucky i guess...
Well that's because Nintendo designs them so angry 3-year-olds and idiots can play them without getting a new one every other time the play.Zaleznikel said:None of mine have failed, but I've really only had the durable Nintendo products.
I paid 60 bucks or something at best buy and you can return it as many times as you need. As proof a friend played hacky sack with his PSP and they gave him a new one...so yeah warranties can be very good. Or in the case of Gamestop where you have to rebuy your warranty every fail that happens, horrible.JokerGrin said:Same. I've had my Xbox 360 a week and it's still going nicely. I didn't bother going for the extended warranty because if it does break then I'll just sell all my games and get a console that works. Not going to keep giving them money for their mistakes. I BOUGHT a console, I didn't SUBSCRIBE to one.
Enjoy tempting fate my friend. I had an original launch Xbox 360 that had a ton of hours on it. Hell, when Oblivion came out that system was on 24/7 between me and my roommates. After two years it looked like I had gotten one of the good launch systems.Jester Lord said:i've lost a ps1, a ps2, two ps3s, a snes, a nintendo 64, and an original x-box. My dog actually peed on my NES, and somehow it still works. I actually just hauled it out of the closet last month to fill the gaming gap, when my Xbox 360 finally RRODed.Sacman said:my N64 when my cat pee in it.
I don't know. My 360 has been through a lot. Like being hit with a hammer and having liquid spilled on it multiple times and it's fine.=DGraham said:Enjoy tempting fate my friend. Well, it failed on me in a most inopportune time. I got it replaced for free special thanks to the extended warranty. The refurbished system I got ran loud as hell and only lasted about 6 months before it red ringed on me.
The moral of the story: Launch 360s will fail on you, it's just a matter of time.
Same thing happened to my friend, I had gotten it the day before and it gotten him excited to play it, he gets home puts it on and makes it through the opening credits.......RROD.MonkeySlayer said:Hmm... never owned a conole that died, touch wood. My housemates launch 360 got RROD by GTA IV but i replaced that with an elite. bought a Saturn once that didnt work, just poked a few places with a screwdriver and now its fine. Also bought a dreamcast that kept resetting but just removed the modem and now is also fine. Launch PS2, fine, Mega Drive fine, SNES fine. I am a lucky bastard.
I had 6 xbox360s die on me in 5 months, this is a system I kept out open to breathe (I heard about problems with overheating) all my systems I treat like gold. Like I said, it might just be a bad run of luck/systems considering the luck others have had vs me.Squarewave said:I have to wonder what people are doing to their systems to have to replace so many times. Ive had 2600,nes,snes,genesis, dreamcast, ps1/2, n64, GC, xbox/360, so far I've only had to replace a ps1 and thats when my tv fell on it. I don't dust them or anything, the only thing I do is to turn them off when I'm not using them.
I don't doubt that people have had problems, but I find it hard to believe when people claim they have replaced the 360 5-8 times. When I get defective electronics I stop messing with it after the 2nd return and find another brand
