1/10, I usually don't have enough money to buy the games. But I will have enough money to buy Rage! Can't wait for that game!

I buy games after the price drops and its known if they have or will have a UC or CC edition with all dlc.

Once you are about 2 or 3 years into doing this great games are always available new for $20.

I usually buy games that have price drops or that are used, but there are some exceptions (I picked 1/10) that make me want to buy it on the first day...and some have been mistakes.

I get most of my games from friends who got sick of them, so very rarely do I buy from WalMart ('cos that's really the only place in my town to get games) on Day 1ne.

Oh, I very rarely buy games day 1/full price. The last game that I purchased at full price was Alan Wake (I do plan on picking up Catherine on Day 1 though). I can count the number of games I have bought day 1 on one hand. I probably buy maybe 2 per year, if that. And considering I probably buy 30 or more games per year, the ratio is considerably less than 1/10th, but lets just say it is for the sake of convenience. I am really cheap. XD

I really only buy Halo and Pokemon day 1.

Halo because they're my favorite games and I get the legendary editions which are mostly pre-order anyway. And the last Pokemon games were the only ones I bought on the first day.. because unlike the last few times I had money and wasn't skeptical.

If they're was another red dead redemption I would probably pre order that with as many extras as possible and get it first day.

I almost never do that anymore after Empire Earth 3 (Stupid piece of shit) took me almost a month before it would actually run, and then it was so buggy I couldn't play. Imagine a battle-map consisting of two islands, which are so small you can only build 1 building, with no enemies or objectives present. try to finish that one.

Lately I've broken my rule of "don't buy full price ever again" for Shogun 2: Total war. This time it WAS worth it. Thank god for that.

Pretty much all of the games I want to get I buy first day if I have the money to do so. If I don't, I get it as soon as I have the monetary means.

If I want it and have been looking forward to it, I get it on day one. That's pretty much 98% of my game collection. I'll only buy old or price dropped games if I have nothing else to play at the moment, which doesn't happen too often.

I generally only buy games on day 1 (or at least within a couple of weeks of release) if it's something I've been crapping myself over for ages.Such games for me were Halo 3 ODST, Halo Reach, Modern Warfare 2 (but not Black Ops) and Prototype. A couple dissapointed me, a couple were good. I have one friend who preorders a lot of the newest games, plays them non-stop for a week and trades them in.

I generally don't buy games on day 1...

However, what games I did get on day 1 (KotOR II, CoD:MW, N:TW, TW:S, ACII and a few others) I've not regretted buying for full price at all.

I only get games on day 1 if I've been SERIOUSLY looking forward to them.

The only ones I've gotten on day 1 are Dead Rising 2 and LA Noire. I'm definitely gonna get Skyrim on day 1 though.

four fifths of the games I buy are on release day for full price or pre order at a discount (Steam <3) Console stuff I wait for it to drop in price.
Pretty much this, I've moved away from console because the games aren't worth the price and they charge for everything where as on PC I can get user created mods/servers etc for free. The only time i pay full price for a game is on console... There's only one game on console i'm going to buy this year that isn't on PC... and that's cathrine.

I wait for the price to drop, I?ll pay 80, maybe 90 if it?s a game I really want but I?m not paying 100-130 for a new release. I get games are expensive to develop but It?s just too much for me to justify spending and I'm a cheap bastard. I can't even remember the last game I bought at release, infact I'm not sure I ever have. Tho I did preorder portal 2. It's the only game I have ever preordered. The fact that I?m actually using steam now might change that since it?s not as expensive as buying from a store, they have indie games and you get a discount for preordering.

Most of the games that I buy I get on day 1. I sometimes buy old games just for something to play though.

tekken 6 was the last game i bought full price..

I do feel guilty sometimes, because some games are so well made i feel they deserve the rewards for their development time!
