I dislike most anime, granted I dislike most things out there but still that's not important to the question. Yes, there are some high quality anime out there that I'll list under "Shit People Must See". However most fall under "Why The Hell is this Little Shit Being so Angsty".

I have the same views on anime as I do American television: there is a lot of shit out there, but there are some diamonds embedded in the towering pile of feces.

So I'm really kind of a 'neither'. I don't love anime to bits, but I don't hate it either.

You forgot the "indifferent" option.

I don't care either way honestly, its not my cup of tea but I'll watch it if my friend makes me, meh.

Death Note is one of the few animes I have enjoyed now that i'm in my older years.

On a related note: who else here thinks that the main character in Cowboy Bepop tries WAAAAAAAY to hard to look cool? It just looks a bit too forced and unnatural.

I've enjoyed it since my sister showed me the Spanish dub of Full Metal Alchemist in the Dominican Republic. I still love it just as much, although I haven't been watching as much as I'd like. I've started some, but never got into finishing them.

Usually an anime has to be REALLY good now to make me want to constantly watch it. If I start it, and don't finish it in a day or two, I lose too much interest, which is why it's a bit hard to watch airing animes. But if someone makes an anime adaptation of Magico by Iwamoto Naoki I'd be checking every day for the new episode.

A fangirl can hope.

Needs a "Neither" option. I don't DISlike anime, I've just never managed to get into it and don't have any plans to, and as such I tend to go to sleep when people start discussing it in my vicinity.

Except for Afro Samurai, which is fucking awesome.

Well I didnt use to like it but at the time my experience was limited to Akira, Ghost in the Shell and the end of Evangelion which makes zero sense if you have not watched the series (which was unreleased here at the time).

Later I gave it another go and actually found some stuff I liked now a few years later I have seen quite a bit, some I have watched have been bloody awful some are ok and a few are really impressive rurouni Kenshin springs to mind for managing to hit both ends of the spectrum i.e series generally pretty bad but the two ovas showing the start and end of his life absolutely brilliant (I have only read a few manga of the series as I generally dont read manga but they seemed far superior to the anime) anime also showcases a variety of art styles and themes which I like.

So overall I like it there may be a lot of rubbish to sift through but there should be something to suit almost anyone as it is incredibly varied.

Dont see why it is always judged as a whole though its almost like saying tv series are bad or good its a bit ridiculous to embrace or refute an entire medium on the strength of a few shows thats just blinding yourself with faith or ignorance neither of which is particularly sensible.

I had to vote 'dislike' simply because out of all the anime I've seen, I've disliked far far more than I've liked. I liked Cowboy Bebop (but the movie was terrible) and uh.. hm.. I'm coming up blank, but I know there's more that I liked.

As far as disliked? The list would go on and on, starting with Inuyasha, Bleach, and the incredibly disappointing Samurai Champloo.

I never saw an anime I liked. And I like the "visual language" or style of anime even less, as it all falls somewhere between uninteresting to clownish and annoying. I feel like it's aimed at a demographic that I just never fell into into. I didn't even like it when I was a teenager, which was around the time I first saw it becoming popular with the nerds at school.

Not even in the slightest.

I used to watch a bit of Dragonball Z when I was 7-9, But I quickly grew out of the flat out boringness of the style.

I've watched a little bit of other animes, and hated them all. It's just a bunch of stupid teenagers fighting an evil empire and winning with the power of love and friendship or something.

Dislike all the way. Even the better ones get on my nerves after a while. Put it this way, there are many many American shows and cartoons I would watch before I would consider watching an anime.

I want to find Anime I like... I certainly like the art style of many of them... at least certain aspects of it >.>

I watched the first few episodes of Bleach with my wife and we kinda liked that.

I think for me the problem I have with it is that it is either really badly dubbed, or subtitled. I don't want to have to read while I'm watching TV, and I truly believe any product officially released in a country should support its main language properly.
I'm sort of an anime fan. I'm hardly one to devote masses of time to it, though. Good english dubs that I know of:

One Piece (Funimation, NOT the 4kids dub (I like it because it's ridiculous, but also has interesting stories, etc.)

Dragon Ball Kai (recut of DBZ, minus filler and other bullshit, as well as the ten year power ups, has an awesome new soundtrack and is well dubbed)

Death Note (Gateway anime for a lot of people, combines mystery detectiveness with supernatural elements.)

Soul Eater (interesting world, and the filler was actually entertaining. Fortunately wasn't fillered to death though. Once it caught up with the manga, it still had some filler, but took its own direction for the main story)

Black Butler (My friend made me watch a couple of episodes of this. It was interesting, and I liked it being set in Britain. Maybe I got distracted by pressing issues, maybe it wasn't my thing, but I forgot about it after a while. I can't remember.)

Clearly there are others, and I probably know of some, but I can't remember.

Another case of not enough answers i see. I like some animes, but not a lot. You can't bundle every single anime into like or dislike. It's like trying to put Bugs Bunny and South Park in the same group for cartoons.

Not to criticize other peoples interest but I never really got it. I don't know why I would watch some freaky cartoon with poor voice acting when I can watch Breaking Bad.

I don't like it. Of course, there is an immense amount of anime out there and I'm not going to say that all of it's crap - I'm sure there's good anime out there. Actually, a friend of mine who're a huge anime enthusiast have showed me one that I quite liked. However, many of the genre traits don't appeal to me at all. I primarily find the drawing style to be vastly inferior to western comics - european ones especially. Enki Bilal is where it's at.
