I have no guesstimate (...wtf, no red line? *Googles* That's a real word!?) whatsoever...as I once spent a fair few weeks playing both Prototypes just fuckin' spinning my sword arm around. Not to mention the GTA games, Just Cause 1/2, Saint's Row 1/2/3, Red Dead Redemption and Age of Empires (Dem rocket cars)...

In Sid Meier's Alpha Centuri I have occupied the planet many many times. killing all the leaders and their armies, even using deadly nerve gas against the believers (suck it you vindictive, zealous ***** Miriam!)

millions probably, if I count Age of Empires 1, 2 and 3. TF2, sandbox games and Internet flash games. Call me Hitler if you want.

I'm going to say between 100000 and 1 million with the number being much closer to 1 million, but it could also easily be between 1 and 10 million. It mostly depends on what you would classify as people.

I've played pandemic... Multiple times and killed the entire planet multiple times so only counting that comes way over 1 billion.

In combat units killed we would probably have to say around 500 000 000

How many have I commanded be slain? Over 10,000,000. Many orcs, zerglings and Lannisters have fallen to my blade.

I dunno. In oblivion I killed something like 2500 people. And that's oblivion. In morrowind I wiped it out. This was all very long ago. and that's just those 2. If I had to ball park it, around 100,000,000-500,000,000.

Played a lot of games where I'd just go on sprees.

I would say since I don't play that many Strategy games my numbers are close to 10 000 000.

It's not something I often put much thought into, but today I was playing Assassins Creed 3. And

as I was roaming through the woods pouncing on groups of unsuspecting guards just to break up the

jog a little, it occurs to me what a monster this Connor is. I mean these men probably had wives

and children, and I didn't even have to kill them I just did it on a whim... and then the

blacksmith looked at me funny so I stabbed him in the eye and killed his dog!

So yeah I guess it might just be the murders that get to me. That's actually an interesting

question, how many people do you think you've murdered? In games like Assassins Creed I'm sure

everyone has killed some dude for telling you to stop running on the roof. Collateral damage and

friendly fire, or even just to see if you could.

Galactic Civilizations II. A homeworld has something like 13 billion people living on it. I kill them all, at least once per game. 100 billion would not account for the deaths by my hands.

Taking into account factors resulting directly and indirectly from my actions along with those I've killed with a more personal touch, I put myself in the 1-10 million range.

Interesting how we can kill so many. But were in no way monsters. *Ponders*.

Every time I destroy a battleship NPC in EVE, that's about 12,000 lives. I'm easily at the billion mark, I think.

In games like Sins of a Solar Empire one billion is small time. Even in less massive games like Shogun 2 Total War I put over 200 hours in which has got to mean I've killed the entire population of Japan at least once. Let's add in Warhammer 40K Space Marine which leads to the deaths of thousands of orks by my own hands, the entire total war series, Sword of the Stars, Prototype, the Saints Row and GTA series, modified Dawn of War Dark Crusade (sweet mother that was a lot of violence), Master of Orion 2 (you wipe out one of my planets, I wipe out all of yours), Civil War Generals 2, Defcon (a great game for boosting your kill count), the civilization series, etc etc

TL;DR Add a "trillions" option

Spec Ops: The Line answer; Too many. Far, far too many.

Normal Answer; A few hundred million at least. A good 20% of that would probably be from Prototype. I've put a lot of time into causing chaos in that game.

I've been playing video games for about 15 years. 5 of those years has been on WoW and I've played a lot of Starcraft, Starcraft II, and Warhammer 40k, so very likely over 1 billion.
