I don't think many of you truly grasp how large of a number 1 billion is. You are not going to get a count in the billions just by playing FPS games, or hell, even games like Starcraft.

That being said, you can kill a lot of people in games like Pandemic and Total War.
Honestly, even in Total War (or at least the ones I've played) a seriously epic battle would only allow about 1500 soldiers on either side. Unless the more recent ones have far greater numbers, or someone plays a whole lot of different campaigns, taking over the whole world, then I can't see it accounting for more than a million kills, maybe two. Pandemic on the other hand, has you literally killing billions per playthrough without even doing anything, even if you don't do that well. I've got it on in the background right now, and the disease is probably going continental without me even watching what's happening.

Medieval Total War. Kill ALL the peasants.

But yeah seriously between Dynasty Warriors, Total War, and Dungeon Defenders (Got it the other day, but every game it seems like I get at least 1000 kills) I've gotten a huge amount of kills. Throw in other games and I'm sure it would break a billion.

EDIT: Forgot about pandemic until I saw others mention it. That accounts for ridiculous numbers of game deaths.

Well my GTA rampages, constant Hotline Miami retries, Saints Row and Painkiller probably get me towards the late Hundreds of Thousands plus Sins of a Solar Empire in which I kill planets and Total War in which I kill countries as well as several other games I'd asy withing the 10,000,000 to 100,000,000 area...

I'm referring to your ability to massacre the populace of a city you've conquered. The number can eventually add up, especially if you play all the way to the late-game in most of your campaigns.
Ah, good point. I mostly occupied or enslaved the populations, unless morale was low enough to cause a serious riot risk at the front lines, in which case I would cull the population as a deterrent. Happened more and more often in the Roman campaign where I pretty much took the whole map, until a massive resource deficit meant that the rebels and Egyptian holdouts managed to start driving me back.

Probably around 20,000 until you add in RTS games and then being a veteran Defcon player sends it off the scale.

How many I've killed? If we count GalCiv2, Master of Orion and Sins of a Solar Empire: untold billions upon billions. I first wanted to say that with Defcon I had killed a lot, but then I realised that Defcon is small scale compared to Master of Orion or GalCiv2. I have obliterated entire star systems. I have virus bombed planets. I have cleansed worlds in nuclear fire.
Yeah.... my love of mass drivers to conquer planets probably sets my kill count in Galactic Civ II beyond trillions. Probably wiped the population of the galaxy out multiple times over

Trillions. I've beaten Pandemic II multiple times, and destroyed entire planets in other games.

I've played me alot of Total War, but that's still only a couple hundred thousand a full playthrough. All the FPSs' would add up, but not all that much. Didn't really consider the 4x game's I've played though, guess that could reach a billion pretty quickly.

Edit: I totally forgot about the seven or eight games of Plague Inc. I've played on Ipad. Your Goal is to wipe out all 9 billion people on earth with the perfect plague, I've won three times and come damn close several others.

Still, I think there should be a qualifier for the thread; that you only count people who are actually graphically represented.

I played Star Wars Rebellion. The game that let you build Death Stars (yes, plural), and park them outside every planet in the galaxy if you wanted. To ensure loyalty. And, much as one must do with Sim City, I once saved the game, and then blew up every planet but my capital. You know, for fun.

What's the population of pretty much the entire galaxy? And that's just ONE game.

Ummm...

"1 death is a tragedy; 1 million is a statistic. "

Are you interested in statistics? I thought not. Now go away and ignore the billions of corpses around me.

Assuming we're counting things that I've personally killed at least on a RTS squad level (none of the "I blew up a planet, and therefore billions" bullshit)....

Well, I'm pretty sure my kill count for Left 4 Dead 1&2+Team Fortress 2 add up to over 1,000,000 kills.
Then add all the Goombas, Koopa Troopas, robots, RTS units, other FPS/TPS troops, Pokemon, other zombies, random targets in Assassin's Creed games, RPG enemies, and aaaalllllllllll of the things I've butchered in Diablo games, etc etc etc etc....

I'm gonna have to say like 5,000,000-10,000,000 from everything ever combined, from the NES era til today.

Yea, most of the people in the thread have no concept of realistic kill rates. 800 enemies per hour is like a constant infinite one-hit-kill swarm max for an FPS. That's like 4.5 kills per second.

To reach a "10 million in personal FPS kills"....that's over 600 hours (almost 26 days straight) of mowing down constant enemies that die to like one shot each.

Just 1 billion is virtually impossible, unless you're counting bullshit "mass" kills, like blowing up planets or something. In FPS terms, that's like 7 years, without pause for food or sleep, of killing stuff at full speed.
