Counting only other players:

PlanetSide - roughly 50,000 kills on 3 characters from 2004-2007.
FEAR Combat: Roughly 50K 2007-2009 (In a full 16 man server, roughly 90-100 kills in 15 minutes)
BF2142 - 38,433 kills 2009-2011
BFBC2 - 10,166 2010
Tribes: Ascend about 3K 2012

It depends if we count the big 4x strategy games and DEFCON or not. IN FPS games alone, probably more than 100,000 over the years. With < 10k kills in Modern Warfare, Battlefield Bad Company 3, Battlefield 3, etc, I've probably reached 100k on the 360 alone - that doesn't even count the bodies that piled up in games like quake.

If we count 4x games like the total war series, hundreds of millions easily. I often make liberal use of the ideas of total war. For example, in Empire I regularly blitzkreiged across some border, seized some province along with the capital province, burned down every structure in the capital and then gave it back as a peace offering thus allowing me to keep my recent gains without dealing with the rebellions for years all while setting back the foe by years allowing me to focus my forces elsewhere for the time. While few would die in the actual battles, the aftermath certainly killed millions.

If we include Defcon, the numbers are easily in the billions because of that game alone. With Sins of a Solar Empire, it's hard to estimate given the games penchant for numerical abstraction. I assume that reducing worlds to cinders probably carried a staggering price but since the game says the maximum population of a world is "45", it may be that I've only killed a few thousand. Or countless billions.

Theres just a little to many variables and factors in this...

Does killing zombies count? Do indirect kills such as, say, the turret in Borderlands 1/2 count? Does killing people that revive themselves count as 1 kill or they count every single time you kill them? Does the kills apply to enemies or they can also be other players you killed?...

Its just too much...

I've played the Mass Effect Arrival DLC at least three times, there's 900,000 right there. So I think easily over a billion :)

I'd be willing to put it at over 1 billion. I played the hell out of Prototype, and platinumed Prototype 2, and those two games alone would contribute A LOT to my body-count.

Do zombies count as people? If they do, then I have a lot to answer for from my time with Dead Rising 2 . . .

Oh, and my shitty Starcraft 2 skill level has resulted in many fine young marines being sent to their deaths. So . . . yeah.

The point that I'm trying to get across is that I'm an awful person :p

I lost track at about a sixty, though I'm willing to guess at around a hundred. Oh, wait. You mean in video games.

Probably upward from ten thousand, maybe fifty thousand. Multiple millions doesn't sound too far-fetched, though. I don't know. I'm no good at estimates.

If we're not counting non-human enemies, and excluding multiplayer death matches, I'd say I fall into the 1000-10,000 bracket.

After I got the stellar converter in master of Orion 2, I lost count.

EDIT: Damit! I really should learn to read the threads before commenting

How many? I've lost count. The lives, the killing, they blur away in the iron-sights. All you see is when to shoot, and when not to shoot. All you feel is the instinct inside you, the muscle memory that reminds you when to pull the trigger. There's no reason in there. Just instinct. Like the beast that sees prey, sees it run, and you act without thinking, chase it down, end it's life to feed your own. That's what war is. Eating each other.

Well i can count well over a few billion in RTS games over the years and probably well over 10 million in personal FPS kills. Probably around the 50k mark for multiplayer kills but i barely bother playing against other people because they tend to suck.

The funny thing though is that i've probably only shagged around 50 people/creatures which makes me think of a good song...'make war not love'...works for me :)

Not all that many from most games but I did kill most of the Grox is Spore. I would assume 90% of an intergalactic superpower would rack up over a billion kills.

A million to 10 million. Not a lot of games I play have people as the enemies, most just have monsters. I've easily killed over a billion of those.

I love me some Empire at War. I must have used the Deathstar on Coruscant, population 1 trillion. So yeah, far and away.
