Poll: How many ttimes have you fallen in Lava?

How many times, in Minecraft or any other game, have you seen a pool of lava and fallen into it through either ignorance of your surroundings or because you fell off a ledge when trying to jump the lava? This has happened to me in Minecraft about 50 times and everyone time I was carrying some good loot. The last time it happened I had around 54 Diamond, 124 Iron Ingots, 84 Iron Ore and the rest was Coal.

If we're talking how many times in my entire life as a gamer, probably a hundred plus. Especially if you count lava like materials, like acid or bottomless pits. Considering all the games of Sonic, Mario, and God only knows what other platforming and other games. Hell, I've even been spawned/revived under a map and fell in FPS games.

In real life? Only once. You tend to learn your lesson from that.

In Minecraft, none. Although I've had many of those terrifying moments when you'll be mining and suddenly lava's leaking in.

Pretty sure I've fallen into it far too many times in Mario or something.

Hardly any in Minecraft, thousands on Unreal Tournament. Last time I checked I had over 10 thousand suicides from playing trials, the majority of those suicides involve falling off a platform into lava, the rest are "/suicide" commands in the console. I can't imagine what my kill/death ratio is.

Am I the only one who initially thought this was about the children's game "The floor is lava"?

I've died to Lava once in Minecraft and that was because I made the mistake of mining upward. Mario games I've lost count, and I can't recall any other games with lava at the moment.

constantly, but then again, that tends to happen when your mother smacks you off the furniture.

In minecraft, I dont know. over fifteen, but my ratio of lava seen to fall in has to be in the low teens.

Many, many times. I wouldn't be surprised if the count ran into triple digits. Only a few times in Minecraft, but I have played a lot of games. The old Spyro games come to mind, for some reason I have a weirdly vivid memory of falling into lava in that game, and frantically trying to jump out again before being slowly submerged...

Is it just me, or did games used to be more disturbing?

Totalling up most of the mario games all the way back to the NES, probably hundreds. My brothers and I once did a complete play through of Mario Bros. 3 (As in, we did not use the flutes to warp to the end of the game. We played through the entire thing), and there were a ton in that alone. Plus all of the lava in all of the mario kart games I've played.

OT: Well I've certainly died countless times through the myriad of games that use lava as the ultimate being of death and destruction.

a whole stack of redstone
a cake
any amount of sugar cane
2 or more iron picks
any amount of Obsidian
Gunpowder
Any kind of armor
