I think the shoes I have now were like 60 dollars and my nicer shoes were about 70 dollars.

My Rollerblades cost like 350 dollars 6 years ago, then I have 4 or 5 pair of boots around 60-100 dollars that I didn't pay for =D.

I buy Etnies, or, 'skate-board shoes', just because they are very comfortable, and are made to withstand abuse - so they last. My last pair, that I had for at least 8 to 9 years finally started falling apart from the inside, and weren't comfortable to wear on trips that required a lot of walking for most of the day. So I bought another pair for about 70 dollars. That's 70 dollars for a pair of shoes that'll last a very long time - so it's a good investment as far as I am concerned.

But I still kept my old ones. I wear them when I do yard work, and the usual outside chores. They've become my yard shoes. So they are still going. :D

I think my current shoes were ~$80 but they had a "buy 1 get 2nd half off" so between the two shoes I think I spent ~$150 or something. That was for some sweet Pumas (Goodyear soles) and my slightly "nicer" looking Sketchers that I wear to work. I also have dress shoes that I got on sale for, oh I don't know, $50 or so. And then I have steel toe work boots that were like $130 but my work paid me back $80 or so, so it worked out.

That's a lot less than my sunglasses. $220 for those babies.

Seventy dollars, but they're the only ones I wear, and I go several years between buying new shoes, so I figure it's okay.

They're pretty hard core leather work boots. Comfy as heck.

Technically they cost me nothing. My parents buy me two pair every year (one for birthday and one for Christmas). Which is sad because I only go through them once a year so I am essentially backlogged.

I could get the knock-offs cheaper but they have arch support. Seeing as how I have flat feet arch support hurts like hell.

I normally don't believe in expensive shoes although I almost caved for those back to the future ones so I can see why people spend in excess of 300.

You Can said:
Mine are expensive, at least $100, but I'm a size 16 so...
Can you walk on water?

I buy steelies all the time and usually end up wearing them for 1-2 years (thats with everyday wear), not bad since I never buy a pair for more than £30 or $48 for you Americans.

I got a pair of $20 boots, and a pair of $30 sneakers. Those are the only shoes I have. The boots are from Costco, and the sneakers are from an outlet store. I cant remember the brand of the sneakers, it uses a British flag as a logo.

I generally have to pay about £40-60 for a reasonable pair of shoes as I'm a wide size 13 and 11 seems to be the upper limit in most stores, with a few 12s about, making me have to go to 'proper' shoe stores or online.

My chuck's cost $35 and my boots, that I wear all the time, cost $135. Not a lot considering my last three pairs of boots each cost $170.

I'm usually paying around $100 for a new pair of shoes but all I wear are hiker style boots and they last me a few years so it justifies the cost. The last pair of dress shoes I bought was over 12 years ago and they're still good just never wear the things.

300+ pretty much always. I like designer shoes and buy them 2-3 times a year. Many would consider it frivolous, but I take pleasure in them and my other clothes so you ain't gonna tell me different :p

they vary quite a bit, bout £20 is the average, then i have my more formal shoes that range from 60 to 90, trainers are about a tenner as i just end up ruining them anyway so i dont like to spend a lot on them
