This is the reason why I don't EVER buy DLC, I'll occaisionally buy the GOTYE editions, but to me most DLC seems like a half arsed mod made by the original company rather than some random dude playing around with the level editor. I remember the days when they were called expansion packs, they seemed to be worth the money in those days.
Like the Diablo 2 expansion?
Yep, bought it with Diablo 2, there was a special offer.

I got, in total, the oblivion goty edition, operation anchorage with the pit, the 1st borderlands one free with the game. So not a lot.

That in itself kinda makes it worth it, but I did enjoy all the oblivion add on stuff, the fallout stuff less so and I haven't got round to trying the borderlands stuff.

The only major DLC i have bought is the map packs for CoD:WaW, primarily for the zombie maps which were 100% worth it since i got the actual game for like £7, most DLC i see though isn't worth it, maybe the l4d1 additional campaign, but i had that on pc so it was just a free update.

If by DLC we mean specifically game extensions and add-ons, probably around a hundred USD. If we refer instead to a wider category of digitially distributed games, it becomes several hundred dollars at least (Empire Total War, Orange Box, Relic Game Pack and the id Super Pack)

In general I have been pleased with my purchases. That said, the DLC for saints row 2 was a dissapointment. For some reason the entire "fashion" system did not appeal to me and the actual game content between the two DLC packs did little for me. I think I spent $17 on the both of them one day and played for an additional hour or so as a result, which means I did not see sufficient value for the cost I was asked to pay.

The Fallout 3 DLC cost me £42 alone (really should have gotten the GOTY edition). On top of that I've spent about £40 on PSN games, about another £30 on PS1 games, then loads of DLC for retail games.

I'm probably pushing £200.

I have spent $30 on Wii points, about $20 has gone toward Rock Band 2 songs for myself, another $4 for songs for a friend that she reimbursed me for, and the last bit has not been spent yet. It has all been worth it thus far.

Also, I have spent maybe $10 on iPod apps, if those count, and they have all been worth it, but I usually demo the game before buying it if at all possible.

I've never spend anything on DLC and I don't intend to start. Where is the time where you bought a game and just got everything for that price?

I have spent a bit of money on DLC. I spent money on the Fallout 3 stuff - all worth it except possibly mothership zeta. I also downloaded Fat Princess(worth it), noby noby boy(worthless), and flow(iffy). Other than that, I downloaded some original nintendo games on the Wii. Star Fox is still awesome.

I've spent about £50-60, mostly on LBP DLC and Guitar Hero/Band Hero ones, plus a few naf games. £15 went on Pain, fun for 2 seconds then so repetitive. So nope, not worth it. Oh and I barely play LBP anymore as I have so many other new games to get through

On comic books, I've speant somewhere between $80-100, at the most. Usually it's around $50. In fact, I'm going to go buy some today.

UPDATE: I spent just over $60 today.

Perhaps there should be an option along the lines of 'I've never bought DLC'?

I'm a PC gamer and I've only just come across DLC with Dragon Age. I've got my hands on the free DLC, namely Shale, the Lucky Ring and Blood Dragon Armour, but haven't purchased anything. I'm not a huge fan of the concept, acknowledging that it has it up-sides.

oh hell yeah, I love my DLC.

I don't know why people hate DLC.

you pay 60 euro's for a game.
you pay more for more content.
it's that simple!

something else that was worth my money was my custom, hand built 5 string bass.
