Never really, I've played a lot of Modern Warfare (2) and Black Ops online (PS3), but I'm never bothered by people. Sure, some kids with mics around, but I don't easily get annoyed.

Constantly, all the time, every night, without fail.

Doesn't matter what game I'm playing, if I'm playing online, there is a 100% chance there will be a an annoying jerk in the same game, likely going out of his way to ruin my experience.

I'm not even joking.

When I'm playing L4D2 with my friends we rarely find (verbally) annoying people to play against, pretty much the same with Gears 2. The only one I have bad experiences with is Modern Warfare 2. It just always seems to be full of Americans calling everyone "faggots" and "cocksuckers" and accusing people of "taking it up the ass".

Rarely, to be honest.

And I played CoD and Halo on 360.

The number of annoying people is GREATLY exaggerated. I filled my friends list with people from those games.

The assholes mostly stay in party chat these days.

Oh goodness yes, on ps3 there are hardly any douchebags when compared to the pc where anyone can type what they want onto the server.

Many say they don't play multiplayer because they don't want to deal with annoying, douche bags, little kids, but honeslty, how often do you run into them.

For me its rare, I have played hundreads of hours of MP but its almost never I run into someone who is really annoying. Sure it maybe becuase I play on ps3 (BLOPS) where their is less mics, somewhat also with PC (al least the games I play on PC) and so its really rare for me to have to deal with anyone.

So how about you?
I play call of duty occasionally and you always have to deal with some asshole. I was listening to the Beatles on YouTube today (they're a good band, don't flame me) and I noticed in the comments there was someone called 1337NoobTuber and he was going to all these great songs spouting stuff like "Justin Bieber and the Jonas Brothers are better!" This wasn't the first time either I went back through the comments and there were more people who thought it would be really funny to come and say something bad about really good songs. This was all just today. If I journalized all the annoying things that go on each day on the internet I could write a book in under a few months by putting it all together.

Extremely rarely, and I even play Halo online. One or two bad apples can't be avoided, but other than that, I don't ge what people are always complaining about.

I rarely play multiplayer games for this very reason.

If it's competitive, it's cheap kills and tea-bagging.

If it's co-op, it's "Omfg n00b, ltp!"

It's inescapable either way. But you could also argue that such behaviour is a good thing, as it makes me really appreciate playing with/against a good group of people when you end up with them.

Well... Not really, but I play on PSN =D Haha^^ No but there isn't that many =) I mute people, but that's mostly because I find any speaking in mics annoying unless they have a funny accent, it's annoying when it's some kid, and if you own him online, then he gets mad, and actually succeeds to kill me, he goes on and on "OH YEAH SUCK IT YOU *****!"... THAT'S annoying...

Other than that, most often, it's actually your own fault if someone gets annoying.

Is it just me that seems to always get either one guy playing music down his / her mic, or a foreign player CONTANTLY rambling to no one, or just saying really quick things every couple of seconds no one understands? If their were two say, Korean players talking to each other, maybe I'd understand them talking if not like the distracting poor mic quality and rambling, but it's always one guy and he's just ranting to no one... OR PLAYING MUSIC. D:

Occaisonally a really ego maniaical player will join and be a legendary douche for the entire game, but they're rarer. Underage (people who shouldn't be playing that game) players are far and few between but I tend to drop out of those game because they're so irritating. This isn't commentary on all "underage" players, got plenty of friends who're under 18 able to play CoD without devolving into screaming obscenities and racism / homophobia.

Even on Halo and Call of Duty's most recent incarnations (and going far back to some of the earliest entries in their respective franchises), it's a rarity to find someone that's actually a douchebag. Keep in mind that this is Xbox Live we're talking about, which seems to have a reputation for being an eldritch abomination of profanity and racial slurs. Hell, the minor trash talk my bros and I toss back and forth during splitscreen is more intense than what I usually hear online.

Most often, I'll just hear mild anger from a team mate if he feels he was killed in a bullshitty way. There's still teabagging in Halo, but usually only when someone I've been dominating gets revenge, which is totally understandable, if not completely justified. Long story short, I've encountered very few antagonistic players, and the handful I've encountered in my many years of playing are mightily overshadowed by plethora of friendly, cooperative players I've fought alongside.

I'd assume every time I boot up Modern Warfare 2.

I say assume, because after the first five minutes I set Voice volume to zero.

Quite a lot actually. My worst experience so far was on Uncharted 2 on my first co-op mission, we got to the end one one person would not activate the scene to finish it so we never won it and had to quit for no points. Haven't tried co-op Uncharted since.

Only play WoW online and it's rare to meet annoying people there. Manly because i don't spend more time in the citys then i need to and therefor don't talk to much to people. But every once in a blue moon there pops up a guy that is annoying.

I mostly play online with friends. While friends can be annoying, the kind of annoying you mean I voted "sometimes" for, though if i played more with just randoms, I'd probably have to vote "often."

Whenever I'm not just playing with friends? Maybe one or two out of a dozen people who I've never met before can be annoying,Unless it's a required squads then maybe get bad a bad egg once or twice a night that just seems to go out of there way to do harm but not every night.

Well the majority of people online switch automatically to 'I'm going to call you a dickhead' mode as soon as you say anything to them.

I haven't had too many bad experiences, so I guess I'm lucky. I do, however, seem to find those who like to dish out negative rep for no reason. Case in point: I had about six or seven matches versus the same person, won a few but lost more. After it was over I sent a message thanking them for the fights, just being courteous and all, I check my rep later to find I'd been dinged for being "Unsporting." It means nothing I know, but it's still very annoying.
