I have tons of games I haven't finished, on PS2 and 360. I just get bored with them I suppose. I complete more PC games than console ones.

I usually beat a game within a first day I get it or shortly thereafter for large games like RPG's.

Well having the short attention span that I have means that I start a game, get most of the way though it and then buy and start playing another game. Then went I'm bored of that one I start playing the last one again a most of the time finish it. But sometimes if a game has just been a major disappointed to me then I just trade it in or take it back.

I'm looking at you AvP

Every game I own except for Dead Rising and Red Dead Redemption I have finished.

Red Dead I haven't done much on. Just been pissing about. But it is definitely a strong contender for GOTY. Along with Mass Effect 2

I finish every single game I buy.

In my 16 or 17 years of gaming there have only been two exceptions to this;

Bioshock and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time.

sometimes i get sidetracked by a differently interesting game for a few months, but eventually all of my games get their fair shake.
right now,
Yakuza 3 delayed for Just Cause 2 delayed for Red Dead Redemption
damn i don't even like westerns but Red Dead is just so great!

i think the last game i own but i didn't play through was Front Mission 4. that just got WAY too hard towards the end.

I always play a game through to completion once. If it's good e.g. OoT, then it will be played multiple time (still play it to this day). If it's bad then it'll lie on the shelf gathering dust for the rest of time.

unless its a good rpg, a lot of games i'll lose interest about 70% through then go back a while later and go "Oh! Forgot this! Woot!" and probably do a run through completely. Its a weird system as it means i end up having a lag of like a few months for game end spoilers..

Nowadays I finnish all the games I buy, a big reason for this is that I nowadays only get the games that I'm 98% sure I'm going to like and therefore will want to finnish it. Last games I never finnished were some odd ones for the Gamecube, Killer 7, Geist and Pikmin 2 comes to mind. The reason I stopped bothering with these was pretty much just that I got bored with them.

I always at least try to. I've finished pretty much every game I own; when I don't finish a game it tends to be because it was so difficult that it stopped being fun. Case in point: Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal. I love the series, and Shadows of Amn is one of my favourite games of all time, but Throne of Bhaal is just far too difficult. I finally threw in the towel after getting TPKed by Draconis for about the 100th time.
I feel you, I beat Throne of Bhaal for the very first time just this winter, despite being a big BG2 fan for a long time. That bloody dragon finally fell under the blade of my Kensai/Mage and he fell hard!

Games are too long and often get too tedious for me to finish. There really isn't story or gameplay to keep me engaged for those over 20 hours of game required.

The last big name games I remember beating are Mass Effect 2 and Red Faction:Guerrilla. There are just too many games I want to play and I dont have time to sit down with them all.

I voted sometimes, but really it's almost never, unless we're talking about a game with a four hour or less campaign. There's two reasons for this. The first is simply that I either get bored with a game, or buy a new game that I can't wait to start, and wind up getting sidetracked into another game. The other is, if I enjoy the game, I feel like I've gotten my money's worth whether I finish it or not. This could come down to my formative gaming years coming during the era of limited continues and no saves, wherein beating any game was a sign of true godhood at gaming. It's also affected by the fact that I never buy a game at full price unless it's a limited release from a small studio, which I won't be able to find if I don't get it while it's new.

Once I start a game, I finish it. Maybe not today, maybe not by the end of the week, but it'll get done.

As long as a game doesn't make me throw down a controller in frustration or boredom I'll end up finishing it.

Eventually.
