My current one is one and a half years old, an arcade model, using a 120GB hard disk I already had. Before that I had a launch console, it got 3 red lights twice, the first time it was still in the 3 year warrenty so it got repaired for free. The second time I wasn't so lucky, warrenty had ran out so I had to buy the new one.

My hope is that I can find someone with an Xbox that has lasted from day one up until now. Such a machine must be rare indeed.
Mine has, I've been at it with a soldering iron more than once and it has a few "hybrid" components inside the case but it still runs.

EDIT: before a mod rocks up "Hybrid" does NOT refere to anything illegal or made for copyright infringement, "hybrid" means things I knoced together out of bits I had lying around in order to fix my 360 without having to buy parts.

Why all the buying a new one upon red ring? I've fixed mine from 2 of it's red ring tantrums so far aswell as other issues. God I wish I had the disposable income of some of you :p

I currently have a 1.5 year old Xbox Arcade after my original 360 decided to die out of warranty. I got the first one back when the 360 was relatively new.

I had a regular Xbox for 4 years.

Then a month ago I bought a new slim. For more harddrive space and because I was worried the old one was going to die out or something. Kept making this clanking sound.

Mine is about 2.5 years now. Works like a charm still luckily.
My first one died after a good long run and Microsoft replaced it within a week.

Good service for me at least.

I got mine early 2007. Only red-ringed once, sent it away, got it back, worked fine since. Although I haven't used it lately for....god, a little over two months.

I got my xbox four years ago, and the only issue it had a freezing problem which was solved by smacking it in anger.

Im currently on my third 360.

The first one I bought RROD'd 4 days after I bought it. I had waited a year after the release of the Xbox 360 to buy it, lol because I thought they would have the bugs worked out...guess I was wrong. Any way I returned it to the store.

The second one I bought 6 months or a year after the first. It lasted 2 years then RROD'd. I'm kinda glad though because damn the disc drive was frick'n loud as hell. I could barely hear my games over it reading. It was still under a warranty for the E-74 error at the time.

Now I have my third Xbox 360 and I haven't really had any problems with it other than the Open Tray error. But it corrected itself and has worked well ever since. I do like that this one has a quieter disc drive. I don't have to blow my speakers just to hear the game over my xbox.

Mine is 2 years old. I've had 3 Xbox 360s. My first one lasted for 3 years and that was the longest any of mine have lasted.

I got mine on day of release (queuing up outside Toys'r'us at 2AM to be sure i got it). It went RROD once just about within the 3 year period so i got a free repair, for the last two years its been making a hideous noise when i turn it on, i generally have to leave it on for 5 minutes then turn it off and on again to stop the noise. Somehow though its still holding on...

Since December 2010, no complaints yet.

If I RROD I'll just DIY fix it. Failing that, I'm done with the damn things.

First generation Elite.
I got the console in... when was that... 07?
Edit: Yes. September 07, shortly after Halo 3 came out.
Edit 2: It's my second. I got a regular white one February 07, but was dead by May. The disc reading lens got pwned by volcanic ash.

Got My Original 360 about 5 years ago. Red Ring of Death almost a year later. Then lost 2 more to the Red Ring over about a 9 month period. Microsoft replaced them all and I have had my 4th one ever since. After replacing 3 units Microsoft finally decided to give me one that was built a little better. Now between my two sons and myself the xbox is on almost every waking hour.
