Next year, my XBox 360 will be 3 years old and thus off warranty.
I have yet to see if it will last as long as my original model XBox or my PS 2.
That Jasper had best prove as magical as Microsoft made it out to be a few years ago. I don't look forward to having to try to transplant the Deathsmiles faceplate or transfer the XBLA games to another console before a new XBox system is on the market.

I think I've had it for 2-3 years. I don't remember when I really got it other than I got it for Christmas. It hasn't gone RRoD on me yet, and I'm thankful for it.

I bought the 4 gig model and fitted my 120 GB HDD from my old xbox into it :)
How did you manage that?I thought the old HDD's weren't compatible with the slim 360's

Launch 4GB S Model

No problems so far, and even if it breaks, its been signed by some industry people, so its going nowhere.

Had my first one for 2 years, then it got stolen. Had my second one for about 7 months, red ringed on me, and I've had my third for about 3 months.

Hmm... I'm on my 6th 360 and the one I had the longest was about 2 years. Let me break it down.

1st - 1 1/2 years
2nd - 1 year
3rd - Less than a day*
4th - One week
5th - 6 months
6th - 2 years and going**
You have either the patience of a saint or the ability to forgive of a catholic priest :-D If I had an experience like that I wouldn't go near the product again. Six! Wow.

So, the questions are these:
How old is your current Xbox 360 (and what model is it)?
How many Xbox 360s have you had?
What is the longest you've kept a single Xbox 360?
Question the First!: My current 360 is about two years old, give or take a few months. It's a 360 Pro with the 20GB HDD.

Question the Second!: This is the second 360 that I've had. The very first one I bought, upon pulling it from the box and starting it up, promptly ejected the disk drive and wouldn't keep it inside the console again. You could hit the close tray button and it would close and then promptly open again. I couldn't play games on it because it wouldn't keep the discs inside the machine for long enough to even start reading them.

Needless to say, I returned it the next day and got a working model. It's served me well to this day. (I imagine that's largely because I barely turn it on, let alone play games on it. PS3 all the way, baby!*)

Question the Third!: The longest I've kept a 360 has been the one I still own, which is about two years now.

(* - Mostly kidding. Mostly. They're both good machines but I prefer the PS3.)

2-3 years. I'm on my second one though, the original got the good old E74. Right at the end of Lost Odyssey too.

This one I've had for like a year.

Three or four years, not entirely sure. Still on my first one. Hardly played it the past two years though due to PS3 being way more awesome(bring it on!). As for model type... It's a regular one as far as I know.

Being a PS3 owner, I think I actually need to have negative integers in order to answer this poll properly. Cause I've like...never had an X-Box and I instead have their rival. Yeah.
Dammit, I know this is no place for me to vote since I don't own an XBox, but I'm very curious about the poll results.

Also, the XBox must be a magical piece of hardware if someone is driven to buy the same console <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.293177-Poll-How-old-is-your-Xbox-360?page=2#11628840>six times. And these guys say PC gamers have great disposable income. -_-

I have had mine for... Almost 3 years now. It was one of those original white models with the crap-tastic disk drive. I take good care of it, so I have not had a RRoD yet. The thing seems to be on it's way out, though (because of the aforementioned crappy disk drive), so I might be getting another.

I've only had one, it is my Elite that I got a little over two years ago(going by how my years of being a Live member number on my profile changed from a 1 to a 2 sometime last month).

If I get the chance, if I can find a job soon and get the money saved up, I'm going to buy a new 250GB Slim model with a Kinect.

I really don't know why people immediately buy a new one when theirs rings. I know plenty of people that weren't in warranty that sent in their 360s and got them fixed for free.

The only reason one of my friends didn't send his in when it finally ringed after over 3 years, is that he wanted an excuse to get a new Slim model. I don't blame him; I would rather have a new Slim with a 250GB hard drive than my Elite with only a 120GB hard drive. I only have 17GB left on the sucker.

I got my original Xbox 360 way back- like, within a year of its release. I remember because I really wanted it in time for Gears of War.

It worked great for a few years, then it got the RRoD in that one year when pretty much everybody was getting one. I sent it in to get "repaired", and the one that came back (if it really is the same one) has been working great for me ever since.

I'd say that's about 4 years, at least, of no problems.
