I was about 16/15 when I went to boarding school, not the same as moving out but its definetly a step in that direction

I pretty much moved out when I was 18,

We live out in the sticks so moving out is pretty much a nessecity unless I want to spend my time with crazy people

A lot of people have put when they moved into dorms, so I guess it does count. For some people, anyway.

I don't get why there aren't more options in the poll. I imagine there are a few people under 19 who haven't moved out and don't know when they will.

I haven't moved out, thinking of living rent free for at least another year or so.

23 but still living with parents here...money just slips through the fingers like it where sand on a windy day - too many financial mistakes and paycuts.

Well, I moved out for four years to go to university but I'm back now for financial reasons.

The 19+ doesn't represent very well internationally. . .for example most of my friends in North America moved out between 20 and 22 while virtually everyone I know here in Ireland doesn't give it a go until 25+ and it has nothing to do with school & fees because post secondary education here is free on your first go of it.

Twenty-ish. Had to go out of town for school. As a person who was very reluctant to leave, I have to say now it was the best thing I ever did.

Um... I'm 25 and I moved out a couple of months ago to study at a university collage but then I moved back after I realized it wasn't really for me.

The thing is, rental apartments are pretty rare where I live. And the waiting lines for them are loooooong. So you have to buy an apartment if you want to move anywhere... And that's pretty darn expensive >.<

I moved out at 21, I think. I had a job and the money to do so, why not? I guess some people get along with their parents really well or something, I didn't.
Yeah im one of those, due to lack of a job and that I get along very well with my parents I live at home for now, at age 23.

First time I moved out was 17, had a job stable relationship at the time bla bla, it didn't work out and I was back at home at 17. 5 months later, at 18 I moved out again and at nearly 21 I'm still enjoying it :) (except bills, they suck)

I left at 18 to go to school in a different city, but I'm reluctant to view that as any sort of achievement considering that I still rely heavily on my parents to pay for my housing while I'm in school

2 weeks ago, just before I turned 18.

I don't really consider myself "moved out" though. I've started studying at uni and my parents are paying the rent for the flat me and my sister (also a uni student) are living in, and I still have stuff at home

Once I get a job and are fiancially independent, that's when I'll can say I've left home.

19 and I haven't moved out yet. I really want to, but I don't have a job at the moment. So I can't really support myself right now.

Ah well, at least college isn't too far from home.

I'm saying 18 (I'm 23 now). I haven't lived at home for any significant period since I started college. I stayed there at most for a month while waiting to move into a new place. I love my family to death, but there's nothing in my hometown. I have no friends there, there are no job opportunities, no culture. It's just a small quiet southern town.

I've been living in Charleston, SC for five years now and love the place. It's close enough to my family so I can see them regularly, but I also have many friends here. And I basically live on the beach (and Charleston beaches are quite nice), so I can surf and ocean kayak regularly or go running there. And there's many more job opportunities, which is important when you're in your early twenties.

I was out by 17 for college, and got a job after that a couple of states away, so I've been out since then. I know a lot of people around my current age who still live with their parents, though, and it drives me nuts. However, most people get along with their family better then I. I way prefer living on my own, and can't stand having them in the same room for extended (more then 2 days) time.
